Deane’s Caulfield Tips Posted on October 7, 2016October 7, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 5 – NO.4 SHEIDEL Talented mare SHEIDEL should be at peak fitness following two runs back from a spell and looks a great winning chance when she contests the Cape Grim Beef Steaks (1200m). The Hayes/ Dabernig trained mare showed that she is close to winning form with a brave second behind the in-form HELLBENT over 1100 metres at Caulfield on September 24. She should get control of this race in the early stages, elite rider James McDonald can be expected to rate her well and she appeals as one of the better bets on Caulfield Guineas Day. RACE 9 NO.4 HE’S OUR ROKKII It could be a big day for the Hayes/ Dabernig stable with HE’S OUR ROKKII looking the one to beat when he runs in the Toorak Handicap (1600m). The four year old is building an impressive record having won 6 of his 15 starts including his past four starts on end. His two wins over 1400 metres at Caulfield this preparation have been breathtaking and he will relish a step up in distance in this race. He only needs some galloping room at a crucial stage and HE’S OUR ROKKII can win his fifth consecutive race making him the best bet of the day. SuperPick - Race 9 No. 4 Name - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 10 – NO.1 FLAMBERGE The best value bet of the day is FLAMBERGE, who looks a great first-up chance in the Schillaci Stakes (1100m). The chestnut is a dynamic first-up performer with four wins and three placings from seven previous fresh runs including his first-up win in the Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on February 27. He would be primed for another big fresh performance and Damian Lane won the Oakleigh Plate aboard the gelding last preparation. He’s a reliable sprinter that looks a great each way chance. Bet Now!
