Deane Lester’s Sandown Best Bets Posted on September 24, 2021September 24, 2021 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 3 NO.9 KOOLED The Team Hawkes trained colt KOOLED is coming off a last start win and looks a value chance when he contests the 3YO Colts and Geldings Handicap (1400m). The son of Frosted didn’t look comfortable around the tight Gosford track but still proved too classy for his rivals over 1200 metres on September 8. He will be fitter for that run, should appreciate a step up in distance and there looks good speed in the early stages of this race. Whilst it is a strong race with the in-form LINA’S LEGEND and the Adelaide visitor MANHATTAN TIMES providing strong opposition, KOOLED can perform well at good odds. RACE 4 NO.2 ZOUZARELLA ZOUZARELLA can been the revelation amongst the three year old ranks during the early part of spring and can maintain her unbeaten record when she contests the Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m). The Anthony and Sam Freedman trained galloper has been very strong in both of her wins over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley, firstly on August 21 then again on September 4. She is a big strider so the spacious Sandown Hillside circuit will suit her and she is racing as though the extra distance of this race will be in her favour. Jockey Brett Prebble is enjoying a stunning start to the new season and can combine with ZOUZARELLA for a third consecutive win. RACE 6 NO.5 FLOATING ARTIST Imported galloper FLOATING ARTIST has found form very quickly for the Ciaron Maher/ David Eustace stable and looks the one to beat again when he runs in the Open Handicap (1800m). The son of Nathaniel scored a long odds wins over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley on August 21 but quickly proved that win was no fluke with a comprehensive victory in open class over 1700 metres at Flemington on September 11. He takes on a similar field here, should make his own luck and appears to have more upside than his rivals. He’s a smart horse that makes strong appeal as the best bet of the day. Market Market
