Coasters To Bounce Back

David Shortte’s Preview

Eagles look good despite losses

After losing to Sydney at the SCG last weekend West Coast will be looking to reassert their authority at Domain Stadium when they play host to Collingwood on Sunday afternoon.

Despite dropping games on the road to Hawthorn and Sydney their home form has been exceptional with a 64 point win over Brisbane, 33 point victory over Fremantle and 68 point demolition of Richmond.

They take on a Collingwood outfit who bounced back to winning form against the Bombers on Anzac Day romping in to win by 69 points.

Steele Sidebottom, Scott Pendlebury and Adam Treloar were key movers through the midfield and West Coast will be aware of the need to minimize their influence on the game in order to succeed in this clash.

The Eagles to beat the line at home has been one of the great fillups for punters both last season as well as in this season to date and I won’t be wavering from that path.

The head to head market on the match has West Coast at $1.10 and Collingwood at $7 with the line set at 42.5 points.

Freo in Crisis

Things have gone from bad to worse for Fremantle with their 5th straight loss having the added sting of long term injuries to key performers Nat Fyfe and Michael Johnson.

The Dockers hit the road to take on one of the most daunting assignments in the game right now, a trip to the Adelaide Oval to take on the in-form Crows.

Adelaide have started the season in grand form and went down by just 3 points to reigning premiers Hawthorn at the MCG last week in what was one of the matches of the season to date.

Their home form has been magnificent with wins against Port Adelaide by 58 points and Sydney by 10 points.

Adelaide have been scoring heavily in their matches while Fremantle have struggled to find viable options inside their forward 50 metre arc.

The market on the match sees Adelaide a hot $1.08 favourite with Fremantle an $8 chance. The line is set at 49.5 points.

It looks a tough assignment for the out of form Dockers and I can see Adelaide cashing in on the situation and winning big.

Doggies threaten to close gap on Roos

Friday night’s clash between the unbeaten Kangaroos and the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium shapes as the match of the round.

The Roos have barely put a foot wrong this season and their forward setup with Petrie, Waite, Brown, Thomas and Higgins has proven a potent mix.

Despite losing Murphy, Johannisen and Boyd over the last few weeks the Dogs still possess one of the more dangerous outfits in the caper and they excel at Etihad stadium.

The market has North favourites at $1.85 and the Doggies at $1.95 with a skinny line of just 1.5 points.

Suggested Bet

Adelaide to cover the line and beat Fremantle by 50 points or more into West Coast to cover the line and beat Collingwood by 43 points or more. The multi price is $3.64.
