Chris Nelson’s Sunshine Coast Best Bets Posted on February 4, 2022February 4, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 No.3 Checkers Locally trained galloper from the Kendrick yard who did the right thing for us a couple of weeks back and I’m quite happy to stick here on an each-way basis. He’d been around the mark before the last start win when sweeping down the outside to round his rivals up from last. He’s had a run on the Poly Track which is all important and appeals again at the value quote. RACE 4 No.6 Shopping Esprit Locally trained galloper who was very well backed here two starts back when winning on a heavy surface. He followed that up last start second running home strongly from the back of the field after missing the start. He can definitely be a little risky at the gates however if he jumps ok tonight he does look the one to beat. RACE 5 No.3 Theeaglehaslanded Lightly raced galloper with only the two starts to his name who looks to have ability. Not the best to begin on debut he was sent around the field to sit on the speed albeit 3 deep, he fought gamely in the straight to go down by only a small margin. Second start up to 1350m he was held up before making good ground to the line over the concluding stages. Back in trip and wide gate don’t help however I’m prepared to take a punt on him.
