Chris Nelson’s Saturday Randwick Preview Posted on July 13, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Happy to try & knock over the favoured runners (2 & 3) in this opening race & have something on MAD DEEL who produced a strong finish to win at Kembla Grange last start in a race which wasn’t run to suit tempo wise. By Dundeel he’ll lap up the additional trip & should be able to find a decent spot early on from the good draw. CANADIAN RULER ran into a smart one last start & has been freshened up, wide gate is my concern. THE LITTLE PUMPER’s closing sectionals suggest he may be a risk out to 1400m with pressure applied early. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 14 Suggested Bet: MAD DEEL EACH-WAY RACE 2 Wide open Midway. There’s a few high up in the betting market who may well struggle with a strong mile, that’s not the case with TYMPANIST who is back from an unlucky 1800m placing at Rosehill last start when unable to gain a run at a crucial stage. He wouldn’t have won however this is an easier race & he’s a chance at odds. OAKFIELD WARATAH continues to race very consistently at this level, gets his chance again. Ditto DIMAGGIO. Numbers: 13 – 6 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet: TYMPANIST EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 3 The Wagga Wagga trained ALLABOUTROY should represent value here. Only lightly raced he beat all bar Acapella Son two back which is a solid form line, last start he scraped home on a heavy 10 with 59kg. Down to 54kg with the claim today from a good alley he can take up a prominent spot right from the outset. BARRADAS has the big weight & wide gate however he has the best form at this level. ZARU on paper looks very hard to beat, my query with him is the big weight & his winning strike rate… Numbers: 11 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet: ALLABOUTROY EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 4 LOUISVILLE looks a promising type who’s had the three outings for Chris Waller which have resulted in a win & two seconds. By Redwood he’s going to appreciate the additional 200m this afternoon & from the wide gate should gain an unimpeded run down the straight with only a light weight. CAMAGUEY is on trial at 1800m, racing well enough to figure & will appreciate a couple of kilos off his back. ESTADIO MESTALLA freshened up back in trip can improve. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: LOUISVILLE TO WIN RACE 5 Like TINTOOKIE who should be right at her peak third run back from a break. After a couple of poor draws she comes up with a favourable one here & will appreciate the additional 100m. Really liked the way she hit the line at Rosehill a fortnight back. HI DUBAI led to the shadows in the same race, fitter & will cope with the additional trip. CAPITOL QUEEN is in good hands as is DAKOTA VROOM, both should be kept safe. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet: TINTOOKIE TO WIN RACE 6 PIZARRO looks overs in the early markets here. He’s a consistent type who ran well in good company fresh, didn’t have a lot go his way this grade second up before going south latest run when giving too much start down the Flemington straight. Well back in grade he just needs to cope with the weight rise to give this a shake. VIENNA PRINCESS was luckless last start, should have won. She’s back 100m & needs speed on. COSMIC MINERVA gets down in the weights & has found the line well both runs this prep, 1400m looks suitable. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet: PIZARRO EACH-WAY RACE 7 OVERRIDING should be able to go on her winning way here. Unbeaten this prep she’s been very strong to the line & did overcome traffic issues in the straight last time out. Gut feel is she goes forward from the wide gate in a race which doesn’t look strong on speed. AFRICAN DAISY can bounce back off a disappointing run latest however the 3-week break rising in trip worked against, better placed here. CENTRESTONE looked home last start only to be run over by the stablemate, continues to race very well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet: OVERRIDING TO WIN RACE 8 GRACILISTYLA has been costly to both punters & tipsters alike however I’m giving him one more opportunity to redeem himself this afternoon. All three starts this campaign have been strong finishing efforts over shorter trips than this, he’s up a little in class however scores a nice weight drop. STONECOAT is a promising type in good hands, blew right out the gate first up yet kept on kicking to win, can only strip fitter. ITA continues to carry big weights & race well. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: GRACILISTYLA TO WIN RACE 9 Sticking with BAZOOKA whose last couple have been good & the step up to 1800m works in his favour. He dropped from 1600 to 1500m last start running on well late & keep in mind 2 of his 4 career wins have been at this trip. ATTRACTABLE is flying, did have tempo to suit last time out though & is rising in weight & trip. The very consistent LOGAN STREET LION put in a very forward showing first up, fitter for it & this suits. UNITED NATIONS is a big market watch, first run in the country having won at Listed level in the UK when last raced (May 22). Numbers: 13 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet: BAZOOKA EACH-WAY RACE 10 With PASSEGGIATA & OMNI MAN both engaged here we can be assured of good speed which may set the race up for a late closer? Liked the way TROACH trialled recently & he has won fresh in the past, will need things to pan out from the wide draw however if not a noted market drifter I’ll have something each-way. TRISTATE has some solid form lines & also has a decent fresh record, should run well. The speedsters mentioned at the top next best, like to see PASSEGGIATA handlebars down ridden for speed. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet: TROACH EACH-WAY (small bet if not a drifter) Market Market
