RACE 1

Racing at Randwick on Saturday will again be rain affected. Impossible to tip against the debut winner WANARUAH in this opening event who was a dominant heavy (8) winner clocking a good overall number. Drawn out however even with a bit against still shapes as the obvious. SACRED FORT looks to be getting close & has soft/heavy form. VERONA’S CLEOPATRA beat home SACRED FORT only run, must also include.

RACE 2

The super consistent IN FLIGHT rises 3.5kg on her last start Rosehill win however over these short trips big weights are not so much of a concern & she still shapes as the runner to beat. KADALL resumes, Team Snowden runner who has trialled well, may want further however still capable of giving the ‘toppy’ a run for her money. BALLET D’ESPRIT is a model of consistency drawn an ideal gate, should figure in the placings at least.

RACE 3

Highway time! Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn has an outstanding record in these races & he can build on that stat with CRANKY HARRY who looks ideally suited at this level. Solid Ipswich winner two back he was then unlucky not to score in town when held up until late before flashing home to just miss. RAJNISH’s effort two back this grade is good enough to figure in the placings whilst VICTORY ROLL rates a place chance.

RACE 4

Debut winner CHARMING LEGEND should have plenty of upside & can definitely measure up here. He looked to be in trouble on the turn before getting a go on early in the straight to get home over the leader & then run clear to the line. He might be another one of these ‘Legend’ horses who is well above average. NOVEMBER FALLS has good numbers for a race such as this & must be included. DR EVIL ready to strike third run back from a break.

RACE 5

Lightly raced import DON DIEGO DE VEGA put the writing on the wall at his first run in the country chasing home a very well backed winner over a mile. Clearly doing his best work late the step up to 1800m today looks tailor-made. I’MINTOWIN drops in grade & with the claim doesn’t look too badly placed at the weights. The consistent BAKERLOO in the mix also.

Suggested Bet: DON DIEGO DE VEGA TO WIN.

RACE 6

AFRICAN DAISY looks well placed here however that’s been the case many times & she’s been unable to get the job done as her strike rate suggests, she can win without me. I’ll lean to the second-up HELLAVADANCER who may be a run short however wasn’t far away first up when trapped deep. DEFINING in the mix, MASCARET back in trip?

Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics.

RACE 7

Looks a very suitable race for the lightly raced, consistent NAILS MURPHY whose only sub-par effort this prep came two back & there were plenty of excuses on that occasion. Liked his closing effort behind a smart one last start & the step up in trip looks suitable based on that. The consistent SAILOR rises in grade however gets weight relief with the claim. SPACE AGE & HA HA HA in the mix as well.

RACE 8

TESTATOR SILENS is certainly ready to break through & this looks a very suitable assignment. Beat all bar the winner two back with a big weight before same finishing position again the latest going down by a very slender margin. LORD OF BISCAY an interesting runner, UK import with a good fresh record has been trialling well. The consistent RUSSIAN RONI certainly in the mix whilst SUBSTANTIAL a likely improver.

RACE 9

BEAR ON THE LOOSE was ‘off the map’ when winning at his first outing in the country here 2 weeks back. Have to suggest he’ll be further improved & the horse he beat home that day Don Diego De Vega goes around in an earlier race looking a great chance. AMBERITE is fit & firing, keeps on running good races & can do so once again. Respect for REDSTONE WELL & CABOCHE however both may be a run away.

Numbers: 9 – 8 – 11 – 6

Suggested Bet: BEAR ON THE LOOSE TO WIN (small bet)

RACE 10

The consistent GITALONG draws well here second-up & should figure in the finish. Tidy effort beating all bar the winner when resuming & maps to get the right run. Not sure what to make of DIPSY DOODLE who may need to lead to win? Good enough to get away with the race should things pan out however is becoming costly. MEMORIA is 3 from 3 first-up, pay to keep on the safe side.
