Chris Nelson’s Saturday Eagle Farm Preview Posted on December 7, 2023December 7, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 No reason the very much in-form KUREDER can’t bring up the hat-trick in this opening race. He’s been very strong to the line his past couple of wins & that’s the likely scenario again today as he takes the step back up into the 2400m range. Well drawn & with no significant weight increase should the same horse turn up he’ll be winning. BEDFORD SQUARE finally broke through for a win two back & was quite ok the latest, is never far away & worth including in exotics. I AM THE EMPIRE continues to race consistently, did have every chance the latest though. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet: KUREDER TO WIN RACE 2 I’m with the in-form MISS TAMBO who although drawn poorly can still certainly figure in the finish as class wise she’s got a bit over most of these. Very good against the tempo winning from last two runs back & sound the latest over slightly further. WILLINGA FREEFALL brings a completely different form line into this race coming from midweek racing down south, stable can never be underestimated & Andrew Mallyon rides this track as well as anyone. BEAUX RUMBLE & WINSTON SMURFHILL will race on speed, will give a sight. Numbers: 14 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: MISS TAMBO EACH-WAY RACE 3 SPYWIRE has gone up Winx like odds in this early Magic Millions 2yo lead-up. His Rosehill win was impressive, the numbers out of it are head & shoulders above anything else in this field & yes, he should be winning. However, at those odds we’re not going to pay for an overseas trip, let’s try a first 4 with MISHANI EXPLORER to run 2nd & box up MISHANI HERCULES & BEAU DAZZLER to run 3rd & 4th. Doubt that gets us a trip away either! Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet: First 4 as above RACE 4 The fillies Magic Millions 2yo lead-up does appear a lot more competitive. I’m with BARBIE’S SISTER who although beaten on debut at the Sunshine Coast was excellent. She was in a speed duel with Mishani Lily who was the first to feel the pinch & this filly should have also however she kept on going only to be nailed late. Suggest you’ll see a quieter ride today. ACCELAR was a similar story at her debut, she fought on very well after crossing from a wide gate. EL MORZILLO has trialled well & was scratched on Wednesday to tackle this stronger race. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet: BARBIE’S SISTER TO WIN RACE 5 GOLDEN DECADE is down to run here & at Randwick where he has gone up favourite. Not the case here as he’s drawn a wide gate however I’m prepared to take the punt he can gain cover from out there should connections decide to run. He was strong to the line two back when winning before wide throughout last start yet still finding the line. WEIGALL TIGER was impressive a month back, tempo did suit however to roar away & win by over 4 lengths isn’t an everyday occurrence. TRIFLING improved into the placings last start, maps close enough to figure once again. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN DECADE EACH-WAY RACE 6 Good race. PRINCE OF BOOM returns after suffering Cardiac Arrythmia first up, he also sat wide & did a power of work. Drawn poorly again today there’s plenty of rivals capable of kicking up & keeping him out there once again. I’m with the consistent SHOOTING FOR GOLD who doesn’t have to get way out of his ground from the good draw which can be the case with him sometimes, he’ll be the one having the last crack. ALL THAT PIZZAZZ was game last start after a wide run, the gate is a little tricky again however he’s right in it with luck. SITUATION ROOM an improver off the good alley. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet: SHOOTING FOR GOLD EACH-WAY RACE 7 With She Mine a scratching EXTREMIST shouldn’t have too many concerns sliding across from her outside draw as apart from maybe the resuming Sakura Girl there’s no other on paced opposition on paper. BETTER GET SET won’t be far away & did win this race last year, well weighted against many rivals here she beat home first up at Doomben. SAKURA GIRL is a big watch, placed first local start in the Group 2 Roses before galloped on in the Queensland Oaks, likely finds this too short however she’s in no way out of it. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet: BETTER GET SET/EXTREMIST TO WIN RACE 8 Leading trainer Tony Gollan has no less than 7 acceptors in this race & I’m with one of those being the second-up FREEDOM RALLY. He resumed over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast a fortnight back beating all bar The Face who won comfortably once again last Sunday, that run will have him at his peak & keep in mind was a dominant winner this track & trip earlier in the year. MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO continues to race well, both the win two back & the close last start second have been in races not run to suit. FREEDOM RALLY’s stablemates COUNT DA BEANS & DEER TRAIL are also second up, their fresh runs were encouraging. Numbers: 5 – 15 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet: FREEDOM RALLY TO WIN RACE 9 Drawn the inside gate HELLUVA BARTY should prove hard to beat. He can make full use of the draw without being hustled along early which is a definite positive as his pattern as a rule is to drift well back & run home hard. He did that last start in a race which wasn’t run to suit. How good is GO WANDJI, first up off a decent layoff having gone under the knife there he was running home hard, todays gate & the big weight make his task a tough one however he can never be overlooked. SELF INDULGENT is the one I’m tipping will improve plenty off the first up run in stronger grade. Wide draw ok as the map suggests she’ll have little trouble sliding across. Numbers: 17 – 1 – 10 – 12 Suggested Bet: HELLUVA BARTY TO WIN/SAVER SELF INDULGENT RACE 10 Tough race the last where I’ll be hoping for luck with the rails drawn EVOCATOR. He’s a bit of a heartbreaker as his pattern is to get back & run on, yes he’s likely to find himself in an awkward spot at some stage however with a gap to come through lookout! COLLEAGUES can improve off the latest when led, that’s not his go & his prior two runs were good. Numbers: 5 – 21 – 23 – 12 Suggested Bet: EVOCATOR TO WIN/SAVER COLLEAGUES Market Market
