RACE 4 No.10 Floating

Could hardly have been any more impressive winning at Newcastle on Hunter Day. Ridden patiently back in the field by James McDonald he loomed up under a hold early in the straight and went past his rivals with ease, J-Mac wrapped him up again near the line suggesting the official 3.5 length margin could have been far greater. Of the four 1600m races his was by far the quickest and could have been quicker still. Confident he can take the step up in grade and win again.

RACE 8 No.10 Kiss Sum

Raced very well in Brisbane during the winter winning in good fashion at Group 3 level his last run before a break. Resuming in the Silver Eagle here he made steady ground to wind up with the placegetters before tackling the Group 1 Champions Mile at Flemington which was always going to be beyond him. Third up and down plenty in grade he will give away a start however looks well placed on an each-way basis.

RACE 9 No.6 Najmaty

Resumes on Saturday with a very good first up record. The key to this one is dry ground and she’s going to get that on a track she’s yet to race at however a distance she’s won twice over. As I’ve said in the past when they win lead up trials from this stable they are generally ready to go first up and that’s exactly what she’s done. Look for her to be storming home late.
