Chris Nelson’s Rosehill Best Bets

RACE 4 No.5 Hameron

Very promising galloper from the Chris Waller yard who is only lightly raced building a tidy record. Just loved the way he dashed away from his opposition very late first up, that last 100m or so of the race was clearly his best. Stepping up to 1800m on Saturday looks ideal based on that suggesting he can continue on his winning way. Note he is a month between runs however trialled on Tuesday at Rosehill leading throughout for a comfortable victory.

RACE 6 No.5 Golden Mile

James Cummings trained 3yo who although proved no match for Kibou when resuming in the Up And Coming made up plenty of ground and did beat the rest of the field by a decent margin (3.5 lengths). Based on that performance and his debut win over 1200m at Ballarat in April he is just busting to get out over further, the additional 100m will be a big help on Saturday.

RACE 9 No.10 Shades Of Rose

I’m with this in form mare to make the step up from benchmark grade to Group 2 level. Yes, it’s a decent rise in class however could she have been any more impressive at her past 3 wins which have been by a cumulative margin of 11.5 lengths? Well, not in my opinion. The barrier may look a little ugly however she has the speed to cross or trail on a map which looks quite kind to her.
