Chris Nelson’s Rosehill Best Bets

RACE 5 No.5 Peltzer

Unbeaten colt resuming tomorrow in the San Domenico which looks a cracking race. Put away after three straight wins at his initial prep he’s a recent trial winner when let roll forward, he never looked in doubt from then on scoring in easy fashion. He’ll settle in the first three with his main rival Anders and the Waterhouse/Bott runner Every Rose and will prove very difficult to beat.

RACE 7 No.4 Overlord

He’s a definite risk at the start this one having jumped slowly at his past two outings and both lead up trials however he’s got plenty of ability. Yes still a maiden however he’s run into Peltzer (above) twice and his effort in the Group 1 Atkins was top notch without ever seeing any real daylight. The 1400m first up looks ideal for him, he’ll be very strong at the business end of the race.

RACE 9 No.8 Subpoenaed

Yet another resuming from a break tomorrow. Many will suggest she’s going to find the 1200m too short first up and they definitely have a case however having come up with a decent gate and on the fresh side she’s a real chance of running right over the top of the opposition late with her ‘turn of foot’. She won first up at 1400m last prep however keep in mind had the leaders covered hitting the front 150m from the line before charging away.
