RACE 4 No.6 Steel City

Punters who backed this Maher/Eustace trained 2yo in the Blue Diamond at Sandown are still probably coming to terms with what happened in the home straight. Travelling well behind the leader in the run she couldn’t gain a clear crack at any stage and went to the line completely untested. Only other two starts were second behind a couple of very capable youngsters and the figures out of those races are strong. Time to extract some revenge on Saturday!

RACE 5 No.2 Athelric

Both this one and Clemenceau came through the same recent trial held here with Athelric beating him home by just under a length. Whilst the latter has the better fresh record the Cummings galloper was travelling the better in the run to the line looking to have more in the tank & keep in mind did run second to Eduardo first up last prep. Also drawn the better gate and gets J. Mac to steer. Enough ticks to swing me in his direction.

RACE 8 No.10 Sheeza Belter

She and I’d say the majority of these have been set for this Group 1 Classic which as usual brings together a cracking field of fillies and mares. She caught the eye late at her last start in the 1400m Surround at Randwick two weeks ago closing strongly albeit never a winning chance as she gave away too much start. I’m sure Willie Pike will have her closer this time and we know she can find the line. More than happy to play on an each-way basis.
