Only lightly raced he was well supported to score at Rosehill when many though the 1300m trip would be far too short judging on his impressive performances in Brisbane over the carnival around the 2000m range. Good gate, no weight up to a mile looks great value. RACE 8 – No.5 Sir John Hawkwood Interesting preparation leading into a 2400m Handicap having only had the one start this campaign however it just might work looking at his very impressive second up record (won 3, placed 2 of 6 attempts). His first up run was a good one giving the winner plenty of weight, down to 54kg tomorrow he won’t know himself and he looks a definite each-way chance. RACE 9 – No.13 English Group 2 winning mare who just found the tempo too leisurely first up in The Shorts a fortnight back. Giving away her customary big start she made good ground to the line however was never going to quite get to them with the margin being just under 2 lengths. Expect a stronger pace tomorrow which will enable her to run home right over the top of the leaders late.
