Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on April 9, 2021April 9, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 6 No.1 Anamoe Godolphin trained youngster who couldn’t have been any more impressive charging home from near enough to last in the Golden Slipper running past every rival other than the winner. He ran down Profiteer the start prior and if we go back one further he was very strong late in the Blue Diamond. We know he handles wet ground now and 1400m is just made to order! RACE 7 No.16 Montefilia Filly taking on the boys in what is going to be a cracking Australian Derby. Her effort in the Rosehill Guineas was a cracker rising 1400-2000m off a 4 week break clocking in a close up 3rd. She’s going to take a ton of benefit from the run and has that grounding over the longer trip (2500m) having placed in the Oaks at Flemington last spring. Handles all types of ground and will prove extremely hard to beat. RACE 9 No.2 Avillius How good is this year’s Doncaster! Great to see a traditional Handicap mile at Randwick jam packed with runners some down on the 49.5kg limit. I’m with this Godolphin galloper who was very unlucky in the George Ryder coming from a mile back to just fail. He angled over heels all the way down the straight finally finding clear running late to just fail. Has come back well and looks over the odds.
