Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on August 17, 2018August 17, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 3 No.8 Almanzora Godolphin mare who didn’t have much go her way first up at Canterbury yet she still found the line strongly late. She was slow to jump, copped a check before the turn and then didn’t see a lot of daylight until late when closing the fastest last 200m of the race. Her trial prior beating all bar the smart Siege Of Quebec was a good one and with even luck here can make amends. RACE 4 No.3 Outback Barbie Happy to back this resuming mare from the Tony Gollan stable in Queensland on an each-way basis tomorrow. She maps perfectly for James McDonald who should be able to give her the run of the race from the perfect draw. Overall there are likely better horses in the race going forward (eg Oohood) however the way this is likely to play out she looks the one scoring the right run and off a recent Doomben barrier trial win should be forward enough to give it a real shake. RACE 7 No.1 Le Romain Clearly the best horse in the race having been competitive in Group 1 company during the autumn/winter against the likes of Trapeze Artist and Impending. He gives away weight and a start tomorrow however we know he can hit the line strongly (particularly should they run along early). Look for him to be steaming over the top late!
