Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on September 30, 2022September 30, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.8 Montefilia Group 1 winning mare who clearly looks the one to beat in tomorrow’s Group 2 Hill Stakes. She’s had the one run back from a break clocking in 4th behind Anamoe beaten just over 2 lengths over 1600m, the step to 2000m is ideal second up just as it was last prep when she won the Group 1 Ranvet at her second outing from a spell. With a wet track very likely that further enhances her winning chances. RACE 6 No.1 Fireburn Really can’t see how they beat this filly tomorrow. She dominated in the autumn of course winning the Golden Slipper and the Sires before running second in the Champagne. All of those performances were on heavy ground which she’s obviously most effective on. Her two runs this time in have both been strong finishing at 1200 & 1400m, this time she gets to 1600m which she’ll eat up plus she’ll likely get those favourable heavy conditions. Lots of ticks, no crosses. RACE 9 No.15 Hameron Only very lightly raced and rises panels in class tackling a Group 1 however I’m having something on this Chris Waller trained 5yo who will appreciate the step up in distance. A run short two back he then hit the line strongly his latest run at 1900m after giving away too much start. With no weight on his back, he’s worth a throw at the stumps. Quaddie 3, 1 5, 8, 1, 9 15, 7, 1, 11 1, 5, 7, 8, 11 Market Market
