RACE 4 No.6 Shamaton

For mine the best bet on the card however with the small field and scratching of Centrefire is now very, very short in the market. Terrific run last time when narrowly beaten closing strongly late off a soft tempo which suited the winner. With Go Wandji also short and looking the winner of Race 2 I’d suggest a multi, that looks the only way we can get some sort of a result out of these two ‘good things’.

RACE 6 No.2 Ligulate

Caught the eye closing from the back of the field over the 1350m trip last start which was his second run back from a break. He should be near his peak now and will definitely appreciate the step up to 1500m on a track he’s had success at in the past. There looks sufficient pace in the race to allow him to get home over the leaders late.

RACE 7 No.9 Nicci’s Spirit

Looks well placed tomorrow to bring up the hat trick of wins coming off victories at Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast at her last two starts. She draws well for Steph Thornton which should enable her to gain a good spot in the run, the likely strong tempo up front will suit as she can get home hard, hopefully right over the top of the leaders.
