Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on December 23, 2021December 23, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 No.7 Enabler Open looking race the opener on Sunday where I’m hoping we have the full 8 runners after scratching time. Keen to back this lightly raced Toowoomba 3yo each-way as he’s had plenty against his last couple after winning on debut on his home circuit. Tardy two back, bad check last start in a much stronger race suggest he should have finished closer on each occasion. RACE 7 No.4 The Harrovian Just looked in need of the run first up when looming into the race wide out before the home turn. The fact it was an on-pacers race didn’t help suggesting his effort to wind up less than 2 lengths away was a good one. He handles all types of going (could be important), has won twice over the trip and should gain a favourable run from the draw. RACE 8 No.2 Zoustyle On a day which there’s no real standout this looks the closest. High quality sprinter whose never been beaten in his home state and is 2 from 2 this prep. Once again the map suggests he’s the only leader in the race and can bowl along at his own tempo, that’s going to make it tough for Hard Empire and Baller to give away a start and run him down.
