Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on April 9, 2021April 9, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 5 No.8 Mosshiki Just seems to keep finding bad luck in his races and last start was certainly a perfect example of that. Held up until inside the final 200m he charged once clear however ran out of ground just missing out by a small margin, definitely a ‘good thing beaten’. Gate one tomorrow is a bit scary once again however with clear running in the straight lookout! RACE 6 No.10 Real Empress Only a lightly raced filly she really did catch the eye winning her maiden here last start. It was the final 100m which impressed as she charged away from her opposition. The tempo was on that day suggesting she’s going to be suited by the step up to 1615m tomorrow and possibly further down the track. Note she has also accepted for the Sunshine Coast on Sunday. RACE 9 No.5 Gem Of Scotland Very talented mare who will be having her third run back off an injury forced lay off of just under a year. Her first up effort was a good one hitting the line very strongly late, she just struggled on the ‘gluey’ Gold Coast track second up however given a freshen up and back to a more suitable surface she should prove hard to beat at an each-way price.
