RACE 5 No.5 Shooting For Gold

I have a big opinion of this Shooting To Win gelding who has won 2 of his 4 starts to date placing second the other couple. He gave a strong indication of how much he’s improved over the break by winning a barrier trial here on Tuesday without ever leaving first gear clocking quick time! He’s come up quite short in the market however will likely drift so it’s worth waiting until closer to race time to hopefully secure a better price.

RACE 8 No.4 Hard Empire

Ex South Australian galloper who blew away his rivals first up here on Melbourne Cup Day before being held up for a run until very late last time out in the Keith Noud behind the runaway winner Jonker. He should have finished a lot closer than the official 4.7 length margin that day and rates a good chance to turn the tables tomorrow. Great each-way value!

RACE 9 No.7 Isotope

Lightly raced yet very promising filly from the Tony Gollan yard who was a ‘good thing beaten’ first up here a month back when missing the start by 3 lengths yet winding up less than a length from the winner. She closed very well and still looked a definite winning chance with 200m to go before the effort told late. She can make amends.
