Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on November 13, 2020November 13, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.6 Better Lad Looks way over the odds based on his last to third effort here a fortnight back. Drawn wide there was little option than to go back, he then couldn’t find clear running in the straight until just prior to the 120m. Once wound up he motored to the line finishing less than 2 lengths from the winner Kavak who he again meets tomorrow. Big chance to turn the tables. RACE 6 No.9 Ashzaya Good odds tomorrow about this lightly raced flashy looking mare from the John Dann stable who deserves a crack at Saturday company off a dominant last start Sunshine Coast victory. Yes this is definitely a tougher assignment however I’ve really liked what I’ve seen with her winning first up from an impossible gate at Ipswich to her latest victory with a defeat in between which can be excused. Definitely an each-way hope who will give a great sight! RACE 7 No.3 Red Stina Although finishing well out of placings here first up her run was a sneaky good one suggesting she can figure in the finish at a good price. Never on the track at any stage covering plenty of additional ground she was entitled to be beaten a long way however she rallied from last to beat five runners to the line clocking the quickest final 200m split in the race.
