Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on May 29, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 No.10 Gin ‘n’ Bitters Promising mare who suffered defeat for the first time in Listed company at the Sunshine Coast last time out. Far from disgraced on that occasion she was beaten only just over 4 lengths behind the smart Pennino in quick time. Back to Benchmark grade tomorrow with the 2kg claim for Justin Huxtable she’ll roll forward and prove very hard to run down in the straight. RACE 4 No.4 Panna Cotta Visiting Sydney 2yo who maps to gain a perfect run tomorrow and will go around good odds. Comes out of a very strong race at Rosehill last start when although not ‘held up’ didn’t completely gain clear running until late when winding up in 3rd spot. In a race which looks to contain plenty of early speed I can see her finding the line strongly late. RACE 5 No.4 Celestial Falls Interesting race where two of the main hopes Vanna Girl and Rocha Clock have both come up with wide draws from a difficult starting point. That’s not the case with this filly who draws absolutely perfectly and should gain the right run. Her first up effort down south was a good one and expect here to take fitness benefit from that. The sharp step up in trip won’t concern. Quaddie 2, 3, 7, 19 4, 15 3, 5, 12 1, 4, 16, 17 Market Market
