RACE 7 No.2 Alward

Interesting race where the place getters from Eagle Farm a fortnight back clash again here with the winner of that race Fighting Teo clearly worst off at the weights. This very consistent Chris Waller trained stayer meets him 2kg better for closing strongly into 2nd spot in what was a leisurely run affair. Confident he can turn the tables tomorrow aided also by an additional 200m.

RACE 8 No.9 Trevelyan

Model of consistency before going for a break. Given a nice little soft hit out in a trial at Doomben on Monday morning he settled back and stayed there with jockey Ron Stewart not moving a muscle throughout. Holds a good fresh record and with very little speed in the race just needs to make use of his good gate to return a winner tomorrow.

RACE 9 No.8 Golden Mean

Sunshine Coast trained mare from the David Vandyke stable who looks to have found a perfect race tomorrow. She stormed down the outside to win first up at Doomben before beating all bar the winner last time out in a strongly run Eagle Farm 1400m affair. She’ll trail the speed here from the good alley before cutting loose and going home over the leaders late.
