Shortte’s Handful for Cannington Saturday Posted on April 8, 2016April 8, 2016 | Posted by David Shortte David Shortte’s Preview Race 1 No. 1 DUBLINER Highly talented chaser who was most impressive here over this trip last week when leading throughout in 35.25. Has won 11 of her 20 starts and has excelled since stepping up to the middle distance trip. The box one draw here is a big plus and with a similar getaway to last week should find the top. The clear danger is drawn in box 8 Winsome Jacko and he looms as the logical quinella dog. Race 2 No. 1 COBRA CLUTCH Race 4 No. 1 SNAKEBITE BALE Won a heat of the Golden Easter Egg three starts back in a slick 29.74 and has been luckless at his last two starts when unplaced. Not always a great beginner but this dog has a massive engine and if he can sit handy I expect him to be rattling home all over the top. Here for a tilt at next week’s Perth Cup heats and this looks a very suitable warmup. Race 7 No. 1 DUBLIN BULL Classy Victorian stayer who is aiming up at next week’s Group 1 Galaxy series and having drawn the cherry here he looms as tough to beat. Was an impressive winner over the 720 metres at Wentworth Park 2 starts ago and 5 back won at Sandown over the 715 metres in best of night time. Is a genuine staying talent and while this is his first look at the track has the class to cash in on the draw and get the cash.
