Greg’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 2, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 Very keen on the chances of the lightly raced gelding, SCALPEL. He was a dominant debut winner in maiden grade before having to park wide for the duration when coming to town. That was a strong race and he did a good job to battle on for as long as he did. He was immediately tipped out for a freshen-up and this looks a lovely launch pad for the winter season. The blinkers go on GEE BOSS which should sharpen him up. He appears the danger. KRAMDEN looks the leader. DIAMOND PRINCESS is capable of producing a fresh run. Numbers – 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCALPEL WIN RACE 2 MIZLECKI was super impressive on debut. There is more depth in this event however Pike should tuck in behind the speed and should be too slick. TAKE THE STAND has trialled well and hails from a top juvenile stable. He will press forward and give a big sight. WATCHIT blitzed them first-up from the front. STREET FURY showed explosive speed at her first run back in December of last year. Numbers – 7 – 6 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MIZLECKI WIN RACE 3 CAPTIVATED POINT came to town last start after dominating his rivals at Albany and he ran a very brave second. He will burn over from his wide gate to be in the first couple in running and be hard to run down. KARLAKEE MISS will get the camp behind the leaders and look dangerous in running. TOMMY WHO races well fresh and should lead. LUKE’S GOLD looks the improver. Numbers – 6 – 7 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – CAPTIVATED POINT WIN RACE 4 BLACKLINE is a very talented filly who returns from a freshen-up. If she can burn to the front and roll along then she takes a stack of beating. The stable mate MANTIME battled on well on a hot speed last start. The 12000m should be much more to his liking. SHOW HONEY has a nice turn of foot. INVINCIBLE WARRIOR can win if he jumps well and finds the front. Numbers – 6 – 3 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLACKLINE WIN RACE 5 CHINETTI is a strong sprinter who excels fresh and this distance. He has trialled well and should be primed for this first-up assignment. UNIVERSAL MOON can improve sharply off her last start effort where she was coming off a 2 month let-up. PRESENTATIE will sit off the speed and finish powerfully. VIKING FORREST is very capable over this trip. Suggested – 3 – 5 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHINETTI AND UNIVERSAL MOON RACE 6 MY MAGIC MISS was enormous in defeat last start. If she begins well and can settle midfield suspect she will be too strong for this moderate bunch of stayers. NORTH RIDGE comes from the same race and appears the danger. PUSH TO PASS is in career best form. SENSO has claims. Numbers – 4 – 2 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MY MAGIC MISS SAVE NORTH RIDGE RACE 7 SCALES OF JUSTICE is the state’s best horse. He’s been tuned up for his return with two barrier trials and the 1400m at weight fore age looks an ideal set-up for him. The wide gate is perfect at Dan Staeck can let him slide over at his own volition and from there he has the strength to carve out strong sectionals and take the sting out of all his opposition. He should be too strong. ROCK MAGIC produced a close to career best performance in the Roma Cup. A genuinely run 1400m is the query for him. POUNAMU will appreciate the 1400m. GREAT SHOT can finish in the first four on the basis he will be leading or box seatig. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – SCALES OF JUSTICE WIN SuperPick - Race 7 No. 1 SCALES OF JUSTICE - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 8 SPECIAL DELIVERY was good first-up making plenty of late ground. The rise to 1400m suits and he excels at this track. METEROID was a strong first-up winner and she should park in just behind the speed. She looks the clear danger. The Neville Parnham trained pair of GREY ENIGMA and WAR GOD both have claims. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL DELIVERY AND METEROID QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 RACE 6 – 2, 4, 8 RACE 7 – 1 RACE 8 – 2, 4 Bet Now
