Greg Hooper’s Belmont Preview Posted on May 25, 2016May 26, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 There looks to be plenty of depth to this two-year-old race. ELEGANT BLAST has been asked for little in her trials. She should get a lovely run behind the speed and make use of the cutaway. KICK IT TO ME has looked sharp in his trials. DIRAJA JEWEL has the race form on the board. PERSIAN PRINCESS beat the older horses at Northam. Numbers – 11 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – Elegant Blast and Kick It To Me RACE 2 Very open maiden. DISCO SMILE has found the line strongly in both her starts. If she can settle within striking distance she gets her chance. THEORIZE has form around some nice horses last campaign and trialled well. YOU WANT ANSWERS ran a slashing race on debut last preparation. She has trialled well for her return. MY IRIDIUM has claims with Pike on. Numbers – 8 – 5 – 7 -10 Suggested Bet – Disco Smile and Theorize RACE 3 Not much went right for ROYALIC first-up. He endured a torrid run from a wide gate over 1200m. Back to 1000m will suit and he can get back into the winner’s circle. JEWEL SASSO ran her rivals ragged last start. She can win again. CLOBBERETTA will get off the speed and really attack the line late. MASTER GOLD has place claims. Numbers – 2 – 6 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – Royalic win RACE 4 RAGNAR’S SAGA resumes from a freshen-up for his new trainer Simon Miller. He was backed as if unbeatable on debut at Bunbury but found the talented Juendis too sharp. He should get all the favours in running and will be very hard to hold out. The stable mate PUTERI JEWEL will give a terrific sight on the speed. She was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this. HELLO PARIS was a strong winner first-up when being caught wide. INDEFATIGABLE ran well first-up. Suggested Bet – Ragnar’s Saga Numbers – 10 – 3 – 5 – 6 RACE 5 This is as open as a race as you’ll find. BUCKSHOT FLYER battled away solidly first-up. The rise to 1700m should suit and he should get a soft run on the speed. MEDOM showed a nice turn of foot at his most recent start. Harvey retains the ride. MYAKE MAK finds it hard to win however she gets the favours from gate 3 and will get every chance. Pike takes the ride on the Albany trained COSMAH DOMINATION. Her form all campaign has been solid. Suggested Bet – Buckshot Flyer each-way Numbers – 1 – 6 – 12 -11 RACE 6 Like THE FORGOTTEN ONE in this 1700m handicap. He was never a chance fresh when settling at the rear in a race dominate by the leaders. The rise to 1700m suits and he’ll be hard to hold out. THE FLIRT is very consistent and should get all the favours in running. PARIS DREAM looks the other major chance with Pike aboard. DISCOVILLE is always around the mark at this level. Suggested Bet – The Forgotten One win Numbers 1 – 3 – 9 – 4 RACE 7 Wide open race however keen on the each-way prospects of BONNY ZARA. Her best form is in better class of races than this and she has been tuned up with two trials. She should get a very soft run from gate and 1 use the cutaway rail. PARK ROLLER has ability and has trialled well. BOURBON DYNASTY has a touch of class and Pike takes the ride. CONSEATED can lead and give a sight on the speed. Suggested Bet – Bonny Zara each-way Numbers – 2 – 12 – 3 – 4 Race 8 MATERIAL MAN can send punters home on a winning note. He has been very impressive in winning all three career starts and is set for bigger assignments than this. He should be too good. BELLE LA VIE put in an eye-catcher fresh. If she reproduces that she looms as a genuine danger. LIBERTY RISE drops in grade and has claims. POINT can improve on his WA debut. Suggested Bet – Material Man win Numbers – 6 – 11 – 4 – 8 QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 6 – 11 – 12 RACE 6 – 1 – 3 – 9 RACE 7 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 12 RACE 8 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 11 Bet Now
