The TABtouch Best From The West – 31st October, 2026 Posted on October 30, 2026October 30, 2026 | Posted by TABtouch Racing and Sports’ Jaike Altieri provides his best bets for Saturday at Ascot. We inch closer to The Pinnacles with three feature races on a cracking card at Ascot this Saturday. The Placid Ark Prelude, the Asian Beau Stakes and the Prince Of Wales Stakes all play key pointers towards The Pinnacles, with a spot in the Railway on the line for the winner of the Asian Beau. They’re all great races and while we’ll touch on the Placid Ark Prelude in a bit, The Prince Of Wales is shaping as a strong form reference heading towards the Winterbottom Stakes, with Talkanco heading the market at the time of writing. She exceeded my expectations in The Quokka, and she wasn’t beaten far in the G1 Goodwood across the border before the break. She hit the line nicely in her latest trial and the inside draw is a big tick for her chances. Immortal Biss was well beaten at Kalgoorlie and that’s a slight niggle as he comes back to 1000m now. He has won 4/8 at this trip previously, but he’s likely to get back and will need to circle some handy types to get the job done. Twisted Steel ties in through Immortal Bliss. with the latter jumping longer odds and beating home Twisted Steel at level weights. They meet at levels again today and they’re set to resume their rivalry. Hot And High won the Crawford last start, holding off Playin’it Sweet who looked to have her chance and Awesome Boy who flew home late in the race. Those three head the market as they look to book their ticket to the G1 Railway Stakes. Hard to find a way into this race with the cards being face up, but it’s shaping as a great race. Best Bet: Race 6 #1 AFIREOFGIDGEECOALS The Karrakatta Plate winner was great in defeat first-up rattling home in the Max Simmonds Stakes to miss in a photo finish. The step up to 1100m is a big tick and there’s no fresh blood in this race that he should be running scared of. With a lot of horses heading down the Guineas path, he looks top dog in the 3YO sprinting ranks. Thinking he jumps an odds-on chance, so to be getting better than even money looks a gift. I’d also be taking him to win the Placid Ark in the process. Best Value: Race 4 #8 CINQUE STELLE Thinking there could be some value in the current price of Cinque Stelle, who won three on-end and showed she’s a contender for some better races this time in work. She’s only had a short break and hasn’t trialled coming into this campaign, though her ratings from her last start stack right up against what Like Clockwork has done this campaign. While she may be better getting out over further, it wouldn’t surprise me to see her in the firing line from barrier one and if the breaks come, she can explode through. In my opinion, she’s a black-type winner in waiting and she gets a chance to run a strong figure in this competitive RTG72+. TABtouch Best From The West Best Bet: Race 6 #1 AFIREOFGIDGEECOALS @ $2.10* with TABtouch. Value Bet: Race 4 #8 CINQUE STELLE @ $6* with TABtouch. *Prices correct as of 3pm, October 30th.
