Race 1

CAPTAIN STIRLING (7) trialled up well and is a highly talented type on return, his strength is elite and this looks a good starting point for his campaign, very hard to beat in this. ART IDEAL (6) will be looking to go forward and try to lead, could give some cheek but would prefer him at a shorter trip. TRAVELBAN (1) will get a lovely run and think he is a strong place chance. BROUGHT TO LIGHT (9) faces a difficult draw but is also very talented, versatile and can get into it. MAJOR DISCO (10) will rely on luck but has elevated this time in. RAKERO RAIDER (5) a top four player with the returning ATLAS THE TITAN (3) who is talented but bumps into a nice field after nearly 2 years off the scene, watch the market.

Suggested Bet: TRAVELBAN (1) to place.

Race 2

SWEET COCO (2) has the nice draw and has been racing well from unfavourable ally’s, looks a strong chance in this to bounce on the bunny and keep on running. QUINTON (1) has been drawing okay but facing tricky maps, good draw to be close to the lead and earn. SEBASTIAN JAMES (10) will get to be driven for one run but is now heavily relying on luck in this. STORMYSKYES (5) will look to get forward and hold the breeze, should stick on well and is a novelty chance with SUGAR DELIGHT (3), BEYOND THE SEA (4) and CAPTAINSHAVTIME (12).

Suggested Bet: QUINTON (1) to place.

Race 3

SOHO SHAKEDOWN (1) returns and is a good beginner and a real trier which are two things that will be required stepping out on a Friday night first up against a handy lineup, highly talented and loves to win. FRANCO ENCORE (11) was a big improver last time out and will follow through and run on strongly, can be put into the race in this grade, run a bold race. CAMS BOULDER (10) ideal draw to be a novelty chance, slick field and he only battled into third two starts ago, therefore not as confident of him being a guaranteed placegetter but he is capable and this is the ideal trip for him. LUCCA (5) deserves a win but will have to do the dirty work. EASTBRO CHRISSY (6) is a quick beginner and will be hard to beat if she could cross. MASTER PUBLISHER (12) and SAIFA (2) place chances.

Suggested Bet: SOHO SHAKEDOWN (1) to win.

Race 4

Highly competitive race. MAXIMUM ROCK (1) is a good front running type and can use the speed to lead and likely to be given his chance in this. BETTORS PRIDE (5) was massive last time out and will likely head forward again but could run into the same problem with BEACH DIAMOND (3) who is a watch at this stage, unplaced both runs since coming to WA but had excuses on both occasions. MIGHTY RONALDO (9) strips fitter and the tempo could be genuine to bring him into it, expect him to go well. BRICKIES DREAM (7) is ready to win but looks a difficult map for him. SWEET PINS (2), ALTA TRIBUTE (4), YOURE SO FINE (8) and HOTLY PURSUED (12) all going well enough but need some luck.

Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (9) to win.

Race 5

What happens early is the big question, ALL OUT OF ACES (1) has shown above average ability and looks a chance to maybe roll the dice here and test the strength of the favourite, whether she can take the pressure is to be seen but looks a major player. SEASIDE SERENADE (2) was a big effort in defeat in the slowest heat of the three fillies’ races, that was her first run at 2130m and the first time she has tasted defeat, she is a short-priced favourite and there is no way a knock on her but they may try and beat her with the big money on the line, might not be a walk in the park BUT she is versatile and she has been the benchmark. IM CATASTROPHIC (10) capitalised on the tempo early with a good win last time out, drawn to get the run of the race with OUR ROBYN HOOD (11) and NEVELE ARMA (12) who have both been proven and the latter was a winner in the quickest heat. ILIKEITLIKETHAT (6) won well last time out and has elevated off a break, tricky map for her. POCKET OF DREAMS (4) an outside chance.

Suggested Bet: IM CATASTROPHIC (10) each way.

Race 6

HEZ THE BOSS (1) has been the yardstick for the boys and comes up with the prized barrier 1, he is very strong and will take all kinds of beating in this. IDEAL WHISPER (4) is a very smart horse and will likely be in the breeze doing the work, he has won from that position before and will give it a solid shake. RIP TIDE (10) is ideally drawn but my big concern for him was the fact he was in a very slow heat and that was his first go at the middle distance, he may be too close to the speed when they run a solid gross time and feel the pinch late and that lifts BENOA BAY (11) who is that one spot further back and has plenty of high speed, think he’s a good chance to place with the field opening up. IGNITE THE FURNACE (9) has been drawn out of it but he’s as good as anything in this race, top 4 player with ULTIMATE SHOT (12) who is a smart horse.

Tips: 1 4 11 9

Suggested Bet: BENOA BAY (11) to place.

Race 7

LUVBITE (13) has been a star this time in and won the BOTRA Cup against this similar field off the same 40m handicap and there is no reason he cannot do it again, very hard to beat. DAWSON (1) will jump well and be a chance to lead and run a bold race here, led and finished third close in the same feature. ARTFUL MAJOR (7) will be looking to duck through and be handy, winning chance if he could work to the top but not confident that will happen. STORMY VISTA (10) goes back 10m but is improving his racing style every time he steps out there. CHIVALRY (12) and OUR VINNIE (11) both are capable.

Tips: 13 1 7 12

Suggested Bet: LUVBITE (13) to win.

Race 8

BALINGUP BOY (2) has been bouncing off the arm better and will be going hard to get the top in this, form has elevated and if he can get to the top, he will be very hard to beat, he bumps into a nice type MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (4) who will keep him honest and will run the gate hard and the distance suits him to keep it solid. IDEAL INTEREST (1) nicely drawn and will be leaders back and run a solid race. PRINCE OF TRIBECA (3) had no luck last time out but still went well and will be close enough and is a solid place chance. LOU LAMOUR (11) will position up just behind them and will run home strongly. SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (12) going well but may be one spot too far back. JINGLING JEWELS (10) a novelty chance from the perfect draw. Looks tough for the wider runners.

Suggested Bet: BALINGUP BOY (2) to win.

Race 9

SCOOTER B (7) fitter and meets a similar lineup, will be winning again at a short quote. RAKLOU (12) didn’t have much luck last time out and will be moving forward to a breeze position to stick on and is a decent place chance with YAWOMA (9) who is racing well, yes, the draw is difficult but is dropping from a strong race. EYE BETTER (1) a novelty chance if she can hold MINOR CATASTROPHE (2) early, LORD PUBLISHER (10) needs some luck but is a place chance from that soft run. SLIPALONG SAINT (4) novelty chance with JAXON MORGAN (11).

Tips: 7 12 9 10

Suggested Bet: YAWOMA (9) to place.

Race 10

JAMIE KIM (5) a big chance to run his way to the top and if he led on recent form, this looks a suitable grade and will be hard to run down. AZIONE (7) will keep it honest but likely to be in the breeze as he cannot cross. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (1) was a good effort last run and will be close to the speed, he will be dangerous late. FLOAT MY BOAT (12) needs a genuine tempo but has a good turn of foot and will charge home. Difficult draw for CIGANDA (8) and LILLIE QUEEN (11) will be fitter but do prefer her on speed.
