Race 1

BROUGHT TO LIGHT (10) is a highly talented horse on return after a long layoff, trial was strong and last run was runner up in the Golden Slipper, looks well placed to make it a winning return. ICE COLD SAPPORRO (12) is a talented type who comes in fresh, he has a great deal of toughness and will be put into it at some stage. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (2) has come back well and will be looking for the pegs and can’t see her winning but if she can cross, she becomes a place to novelty chance with CALL TO ARMS (6) who can scoot off the arm. ELEPHANT ROCK (7) a novelty chance but tough draw and ISAIDBOO (9) could poke through nicely.

Suggested Bet: BROUGHT TO LIGHT (10) to win.

Race 2

SALSAWITHSIERRA (8) looks a versatile type and will need that from a tricky draw but looks suited class wise and was a dominant winner on debut in the state, hard to hold out with any luck. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) has options from the draw, better form over this distance and shorter and could run well but has options. ALLIZEE (4) is racing well winning her last two, wasn’t a quick beginner as a rule but began a lot better last time out, could head forward looking for the top. THIS TIME JACKO (7) is capable but faces a tough draw, Aiden De Campo has a decent record on this horse. PACIFIC EAGLE (6) and SUGAR BOO (9) novelty chances.

Suggested Bet: SALSAWITHSIERRA (8) to win.

Race 3

Open race. TASHS SPARTAN (3) has always been a horse I have had some time for and am happy to play him in this race, looks to be in the first few and looks a strong chance. HOTFOOT IT (2) has the speed to potentially lead, he is a bold front runner and was better last start, expect further improvement from him in this. OUR MAJOR JACK (6) races well with the services of Aiden De Campo and his form has been sound without, expecting him to jump up and put in a big show here. PICK ME (4) goes up in grade, looks more of a place chance here with THEYCALL ME STOOGE (9) and IM ROCKIN ROD (10).

Suggested Bet: TASHS SPARTAN (3) to win.

Race 4

LAZI DAIS (7) has returned in tremendous order and has handed out lessons in recent runs, he is a versatile type but has plenty of early speed, looks suited and hard to beat again. BAZAAR PACKAGE (1) is racing in terrific order, she has the speed to lead early and then has options, on the quick backup from Gloucester Park the night before. OUR VINNIE (8) is ideally drawn and loves to follow the rail, looks a knockout chance from that position. WHOS THE DAD (2) a novelty chance here with LORD TITANIUM (4) who is racing consistently, and ROCK ME OVER (5) will run on after a decent return.

Race 5

MAGNIFICENT STORM (3) has a challenger in being the most impressive storm this weekend with Narelle hanging around, Storm has come back in remarkable order and looks to be firing on all cylinders, he should just lead and win. HUGOTASTIC (1) has got the wraps attached to his name and really showed last run that he has a big engine with a scintillating last half; it’s a great opportunity for him to sit on speed and see how he goes against one of the best in the land. MIGHTY RONALDO (10) was brave after being bullied by Minstrel last run, he never gave up the chase and has been a remarkable horse in his own right, will be running on strongly with WAVERIDER (9) who returned with a good effort in the Mount Eden Sprint at Pinjarra behind Storm. GOLDEN LODE (6) fitter and always a novelty chance.

Tips: 3 1 10 9

Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM/HUGOTASTIC to Exacta.

Race 6

YAWOMA (4) returns and so does my ill feelings as a punter towards him, he is a highly talented horse who just finds it hard to break through, going to be very hard to beat but he himself, finds a way, wouldn’t be diving in too short. TA IN ADVANCE (7) is racing in top order; tempo needs to be decent enough to bring him into it but is racing full of confidence. STRAUNY (1) has options from the draw, they normally like him on speed so they might roll the dice here, this will give BETTOR MOVE ALONG (2) a nice run and elevate his novelty chances. REPOSSESSION (3) goes up in grade.

Suggested Bet: TA IN ADVANCE (7) to win.

Race 7

Great battle upcoming. BETTOR BEHAVE (5) can fly off the arm and thought he was a chance to find the top here and what he produced 3 starts ago when winning would see him hard to run down, he is versatile so there are more ways to win for him. IN RARE AIR (4) is second up and strips fitter, looks a solid chance to go top 2, gate speed a slight query but is highly talented. CEASE TO REACT (6) just likes to win, he is tough and can run good times, looks like he’ll have to do his dirty work again and being first up it’ll be a good test against some nice ones. WHERES MY HALO (2) and LETS EAGLE ROCK (1) will have a spirited battle for fourth.
