Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 17, 2026March 17, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 TYPHOON TREASURE (2) caught the eye with a last start 7th, first win was good and in good time at Northam and could give them something to catch if able to find the top, will have to stretch the neck when racing one as talented as MY MACHANE (8) who returns from a wide draw, has strings to his bow and must be respected but could come up short. BETTOR BEHAVE (9) also must overcome the river draw but has returned in sharp order and should be running around the money. MINK (5) is a novelty chance with MATERNAL DREAMS (11) who has returned well but will have to come around runners in the final circuit and it could get challenging late. CHEFS KISS (6) is good enough but can mix her form. Tips: 2 8 9 11 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON TREASURE (2) to win. Race 2 SPORTING GRACE (3) has good early speed and finds the right grade, will be coming out looking for the top and if she can hit the rail over the mile, I think she’ll take all kinds of beating. FUEGO CRUZADO (1) holds the key to the chances, has a chance to improve second up but has options from the draw. SWITCH BLADE (5) will roll forward and look to stick on if he can get to the breeze. HEAVY METAL HAMMER (11) hit the line strongly last time out and was a significant improvement on previous form, keep him safe with HUGHEY (12) dropping in grade to be running on as well. Tips: 3 1 5 11 Suggested Bet: SPORTING GRACE (3) to win. Race 3 VINTAGE BLU (1) gets the draw and should look to come out hard, over the mile if he led the big fella will give them something to chase down. BRODIE BOY (2) will be coming out hard off a front row draw, he is a major player if he could find the peg line and being second up will have benefitted from the first up effort, expect some fireworks early. DAT LOVELY (5) faces a tricky draw with JACKIE DANIELS (6) both are capable but with plenty of speed to the inside it could be challenging. BEYOND BLING (10) a novelty chance but is definitely a few steps below his better form. Tips: 1 2 10 6 Suggested Bet: VINTAGE BLU (1) to win. Race 4 TROUBADOUR (4) is a talented type on return and looks well placed, the Team Bond stable have produced a few first up off breaks recently and all have hit the ground running and expecting this bloke to return and go on his winning way. THE WILDCARD (1) is beautifully drawn to use his speed early and take some cover, looks a strong place chance. SISTER CHERIE (5) returns and may have to do some work, but she has depth, she looks a novelty play with SOUND WAVE (6), MY SILVER SPOON (8) and ELWADDELL (9). Tips: 4 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: TROUBADOUR/THE WILDCARD to Exacta. Race 5 RUNKLE CRUNCH (7) returns and was the winner of the WA Derby where he had a few things go his way, but you don’t win a Derby without ability, he has had a few issues on the 800m circuit before and that will be the watch but on ability, he looks very hard to beat. LONGREACH BAY (1) should lead and give them something to chase, his form has been sufficient to be cheeky in this. ELDAYTONA (2) could get the run of the race in the slipstream and is racing well. REINETTE (4) and IM LIGHTNING BANNER (5) are both highly talented with the former trialling up nicely at Pinjarra and looked sharp. Good race. Tips: 7 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: RUNKLE CRUNCH (7) to win. Race 6 DELIGHTFUL PEG (6) trialled up well for this and looks a nice type, will be short but looks to start her WA account with a victory justifying the short quote. GELSOMINO AMAL (5) seems to follow speed well and might use that early speed to try and get to the top before some decisions are made, not a fast line underneath. SLOANIE BELL (4) is a novelty chance but would need to step around SUGAR BOO (2) to be a back-end top 4 player. REPOSSESSION (9) won well last start, but the draw is not ideal. LOVE DEVINE (7) racing well and should run on but this is much harder than last run. Tips: 6 5 9 2 Suggested Bet: DELIGHTFUL PEG/GELSOMINO AMAL to Exacta. Race 7 ELEPHANT ROCK (7) has strings to his bow in this grade and can bounce back to his better form, bit of conjecture over what happens early and that could really play into his hands. SONIC SEELSTER (3) is a quick beginner and then normally looks for cover, DANGER (6) has improved recently but is lacking in early brilliance and will be running on, STRIKE MASTER (9) falls into that category and is first up but this grade is quite suitable for his class. PICK ME (8) has been thereabouts but will have to the work in the run. SHES ALL GO (5) disappointed on Friday but she has been mixing her form. Tips: 7 3 9 6 Suggested Bet: ELEPHANT ROCK (7) to win. Race 8 Open race. AKABAH (9) caught my eye last start as he went to the line bolting, on that run he is a major player but two starts ago he nearly stopped on the spot, so he is a mixed bag and unsure what you might get here but I think he has ability. PACIFIC EAGLE (4) lacks early brilliance but wasn’t a bad effort after sitting three wide throughout last time out, suitable grade and can improve. AGENT ANDY (5) has had his chances and comes in with claims again with some early dash. VISITING HOURS (8) suited to this grade but not the draw and needs a touch of luck. DUNAMIS (6) is capable and likely looks for a forward position. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (3) not the worst. Tips: 9 4 5 8 Suggested Bet: AKABAH (9) to win. Race 9 MAJESTIC GA GA (8) should be winning again, she did her fair share of work last time out and was too strong for a stronger field, 60m looks suitable at the longer trip and can overcome the handicap. LUVAFLAIR (7) led on that race and was run down by the favourite here and they meet off the same handicap; she should be in the money again. BEE BEE BEROC (4) hung and broke last time out, he is a decent trotter when he does things right but becomes a hard horse to catch, fun fact, the last time he won, he beat MAJESTIC GA GA (8) at this track and distance. SUGA DADDY (1) could be an improver in this grade and looks a novelty chance with BONNIE RAE. Tips: 8 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC GA GA/LUVAFLAIR/BEE BEE BEROC to Trifecta. Race 10 BEONA BAY (1) looks a nice type with an eye catching second at Pinjarra behind the talented George Myboy, has the perfect draw and the small field and looks to get the job done. THE SEA COMMANDER (2) continues to show promise and has the soft draw, should get the perfect run and be a strong exacta player in this. PIP OFF (4) and CALL THE CAPTAIN (6) fighting out the bottom two spots. Tips: 1 2 6 4 Suggested Bet: BENOA BAY/THE SEA COMMANDER to Exacta. Market Market
