That was a huge move off the back of a string of encouraging minors and with Tash Faithfull sticking, a better barrier and a more economical run he should be going close to breaking through. WAR CLASS caused a major boilover last start at 100-1 when beating Traded Crown. Can the 10 year old reproduce? WHO’S OUR MAMA bolted in last start and was winning from a long way out. She’s a ripper. ROYALZEL brings alternate form through Port Hedland and Roebourne. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRADED CROWN WIN RACE 2 BELVEDERE ROCK trialled super at Geraldton on two occasions in April and May and then was trucked down to York to make his debut. The punters launched him but they never looked a winning chance at any stage. 3 months later he’s first-up, no trial and onto the dirt. Drawn barrier 1 he would want to step or it could get very ugly. IMPENDING FEATURE led and gave cheek last start at 1200m. Should work forward again into a prominent spot. GIGI’S CAPACHINO has been solid in both runs for new trainer Graeme Hammarquist. CASINO ROYALE was excellent four back and three back, but hasn’t fired since. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – BELVEDERE ROCK WIN RACE 3 GOLD SPY should just keep winning. His maiden win was strong but his 56+ win simply arrogant. When Tash Faithfull pulled the trigger, he let down like a proper dirt horse and both visually and sectionally he looks like the next open class sprinter of the region. These are the types who put 4/5 in a row together and doubt 61.5kg will stop him. WESTERN IMPACT has had a consistent preparation winning two of his last five. Ran into a flying Schnoots at Roebourne last start. EIN STEIN was luckless two back but only fair at the last meeting. WAR TACTICS has been the target of betting support at his last few and is certainly getting close. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – GOLD SPY WIN RACE 4 LACEVINSKY broke through for a deserved win two start ago when able to find the front and run them along at a genuine tempo and prove simply too slick. Last time out he had to breeze and then attacked the leader at the 1000m marker and was left a sitting duck to be run down. Back in grade, works forward into a prominent spot and Sharni Webster has been riding well all NW season. CHOICE BID broke a long run of outs last start when narrowly holding off the late challenge of Weld this track/distance. STAR POWER was far too good for them at Port Hedland. Measures up. CHEEKY CHARLOTTE is a query at 1400m but handling the dirt well. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – LACEVINSKY WIN RACE 5 LATHAMS WISH was the ‘be on me next start’ run at his Peter Daly debut. 4kg claimer replaced by a senior, better for the dirt experience and better suited out in trip. Lots to like – except barrier 1. That’s a face full of kickback – wish he drew 14/14 but going to trust the eye and follow him through. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER can be his own worst enemy at times but if the barrier attendants can get him into, and then Peta Edwards out of the gates then he’s a genuine threat in the Junction Cup Prelude. No War Class or Traded Crowns in this. AWESOME LILY beat him home last start and again has no weight on her back after the claim. JIDDO is 1 from 18 but his two runs on the dirt at Carnarvon have both been really good. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – LATHAMS WISH EACHWAY RACE 6 PRINCE RAGNAR is a jump and run, high speed, high pressure galloper. No surprise to see him win his trial by nearly 15L but what was surprising was the time clocked – 57.24. Unfortunately, there were no 1000m races that day to compare against, however, across the last 2 months the 1000m winners have been: Incandescent Lady (58:80), Oregkon Hiker (57:72), Shasfa (58:97) and Wise Words (58:01). Dangerous trusting the trial time and comparing times across different meetings but that’s low flying. SIMPLE LOGIC was great in the Minilya Sprint and then backed off the boards unsuccessfully last start. THE COOLAKIN KING rarely runs a bad race regardless of distance.
