Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on January 24, 2025January 24, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FLINDERS LANE stays in Esperance and joins the stables of leading trainer Josh Brown. She was a super run behind Favaois last time out and Brown calls on the services of senior rider Austin Galati. Looks a nice race for her. DEMETRIOUS has had two starts for new trainer Anthony Barton and they’ve both been super. He’s a massive danger. I HAD A DREAM looked to have found his race last start but didn’t show much late. GEM’S MAN nearly pinched one last start. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FLINDERS LANE WIN RACE 2 EVERLASTING SPIRIT was hard fence last start and for followers of the Esperance Bay Turf Club season(s) that’s simply not the place to be. There will be plenty watching that replay who are keen to follow up with her here and the fact that Tash Faithfull jumps on is the cherry on top. NADELL is ready to win one. She’s going really well and there’s realistically little between the Harding pair. SUGARED UP has a few gear changes. BIG NOTER finally showed something last start. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – EVERLASTING SPIRIT WIN RACE 3 SNIPERS SON aka The Bay Of Isles Bullet was firing blanks first-up. He’s much better than that and hoping here dropping 1.5kg and with added fitness second-up he can bounce back. UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY is ready to win. Runner-up his last two and most recently at Albany he’s run into a really nice animal in Golden Dore. ZEBEDEE SPRINGS is a lightly raced mare who now finds herself in Esperance under the care of Justin A Robins. Trial was solid and the minor placings at Mildura, Wodonga and Benalla are good enough. MYTHICAL MISS an improver. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SNIPERS SON WIN RACE 4 LUCKY SUE is flying and looks hard to hold out here. Nick Thomas’ team are going 10L better than they did in Kalgoorlie and his horses are also very popular in the market place at the minute. This mare is bursting to win another race and backs up off 7 days and gains the services of Austin. FAMEUX has his first start down in Esperance and showed enough to be a lower grade Saturday horse on occasion for Grant & Alana Williams only 6 months ago. BLUE CAN TALK is there abouts. DAWN AMNESTY is clocking great sections. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – LUCKY SUE WIN RACE 5 UNCOMPROMISED was able to win first-up over 1400m without a trial. Same track/same distance/same grade here and only rises 1.kg. Tash Faithfull on is going to be a popular change for many punters across the meeting and this horse belongs in town. He’ll get weighted out of country racing in the near future. I AM SPARTACUS has been lumped with top weight for years but continues to run well. WHEATSTACK THIEF is back. BIRDS THE WORD maps soft. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – UNCOMPROMISED WIN RACE 6 DANCING CHOOSE had two runs at Landor when last in work, we’re naturally going to completely ignore that form and focus in on some of the efforts for Grant & Alana back in early 2024. 2L off Cheeky Charlotte, Lord Vampi and Sunbronzed at his WA debut sounds good and then 1.5L off Hemlock Stone in a C3 more than handy. BIG BAD BAGGINS didn’t fire a shot at his first start for Helen Harding. 63 days later he’s had a freshen and trialled. LACIE ACE showed a nice turn of foot to score last start. LADY DUCATI hasn’t run a bad race since joining Neil Dellar and backs up. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – DANCING CHOOSE WIN RACE 7 TRUE CHANCE is one of the most progressive horses in the region. He’s three from three this time in, he’s been sparingly raced by Gary Burger and he’s now out to 1975m, you would imagine as a testing the waters moment for a tilt at the Esperance Cup. Barrier 1 far from ideal but ability wise he’s got a few lengths on most of these. THE ROOSTER will appreciate getting out over ground. FLOPPY was a big improver last start. FRIAR THE GUN can stay and maps soft. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRUE CHANCE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4 2 FD 1 Market Market
