Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 8, 2024November 8, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ANABALLISTIC is a rare Simon A Miller runner at York in a maiden handicap after working forward to the breeze to park outside of Psycho Sista before being burnt off at the top of the straight and finishing fourth beaten nearly 6L. Shouldn’t do as much work here and gets her chance in a weaker race. WEAPONS HOT went to Kalgoorlie last start and was solid into second. Prior to that finished only 3L off Flagship here at York. NOBLE CONNECTION a watch at his debut off a fairly soft trial. ON JUST TERMS didn’t run to market expectation at Kal. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – ANABALLISTIC WIN RACE 2 BIONDO finds his easiest race yet. Got to the line well a few times in some strong form reference races earlier in his preparation and then was sent forward last start when fading late over 1600m. Has versatility and from the draw should get every possible chance. If he’s going to win one this could be it. BLOW BACK couldn’t lead at Ascot at his return to racing and looked completely lost. Expect Jarrad Noske will be aggressive early. INVASORE showed something on debut behind the Merryman. ROYAL TROOPER finds a new home with Greg Kersley. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – BIONDO WIN RACE 3 FRUIT LOOPS raced Tuesday at Ascot’s Melbourne Cup Day and really hit the line hard behind Mai Aloha and Sunlit Fresco. Prior effort at York was sound behind Gold Vancouver (who has won again since) and Pat Carbery looks to have another good winning chance. PIO KERRI finished third at Geraldton beaten half a length by subsequent winner Stevie’s May. She has speed to get across from her wide draw and Laqdar Ramoly rides York well. THATSTHEWAYILIKEIT and WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE were both too sharp for their maiden rivals at Kalgoorlie and Narrogin respectively last start but both rise 3kg. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – FRUIT LOOPS WIN RACE 4 BILL SELECTS has turned a corner this campaign. She broke her maiden (finally) at Toodyay with a dominant 5L win and then nearly won this track/distance/grade when gunned down by Charlie Jane over the concluding stages. This is her grade and she can find the front and control. Hard to get past. RUNFORROB has been racing consistently well in C3 company recently. This is a huge drop in grade for him, just needs a run at them. AIYZA grew wings at Toodyay to win a 46+. She can fly late on her day. WINNING ACES was good at Moora. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – BILL SELECTS WIN RACE 5 CANGGU is a track/distance specialist and provided that Chanel Cooper can hold up from barrier 1 which on paper looks very likely then he’ll be hard to beat. Had his first start on the dirt at Collie and won by an extending 7.4L. Fit, firing and rolls from the 600 which makes him the one to run down. SECRET INDENTITY was racing in Westspeed Platinum races only a month ago. This is a noticeable drop in grade for him and you only need to forgive one below par performance last start to have him as a legitimate danger. MISS INTENTION goes well at York and can come on quickly. JOLLY LACE always worth consideration at York. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – CANGGU WIN RACE 6 BEANIE won this track/distance/grade only two starts back and after the claim has the same weight on his back. Not big on apprentice riders in staying races, however, drawn wide is probably a good thing for him because Amy Jo Hayes can park him out three deep and keep him moving into the race. He is one paced and will keep coming at them. ASARKA showed a glimpse two starts back and is on a 5 day back-up from Ascot Tuesday. ALKALINE has met with support a few times recently and has Lucy Fiore aboard. LADY OF BABYLON is going along alright. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – BEANIE WIN RACE 7 TONI’S SPIRIT put the writing on the wall last Saturday at Ascot. She was bursting through late under Brayden Gaerth and finished less than 1.5L off the winner over 1600m. She’s third-up, she’s out to a more suitable 1920m and she’s looking to retain her York Cup Crown after saluting in this exact race 364 days ago. Big tick that she handles the track. OUTSPOKEN LAD and DECORATION could nearly land first and second in running and control the race between themselves from there. Both in form, on speed types who will be popular in the market. HENCHARD next best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – TONI’S SPIRIT WIN RACE 8 KINGS FLIRT is well placed here by Rob Matthews. The mare’s form has tapered off recently but it’s not that long ago that she won a C3 at Bunbury and only three starts ago she was 2L off Madam Kisses in a 60+ at Belmont. Can mix her form but from the draw Kyra Yuill has options. PRETTY DEVINE went back to trials and bolted in before heading back to the races to hold them off in a C5 1300. This is an easier race for her, she just needs to overcome a tricky draw. VILLAGE GIRL ran some massive races without luck last prep. CHER has been a great ‘road trip’ horse for connections. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – KINGS FLIRT EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,4 2,6,9,10,11 1,2,3 1,2,3,5,7,10 Market Market
