Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on July 11, 2024July 11, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FAIR GRACE steps out another 200m which is a big unknown for a 7 year old maiden mare who will go round favourite, but they almost all come through the same form race behind Monty Zoomer and she was the best of the beaten brigade. SLAVICA comes through the same race and ran third and was only 1L off Fair Grace. Can turn the tables. MADAME SHIH was specked in betting last week. BRAZILIAN BELLE has shades going on. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – FAIR GRACE WIN RACE 2 ALKALINE didn’t have a rider last week so was a late scratching. His two runs in Carnarvon have been excellent and think that he can wind up over these. Looked to be travelling strongly last start before darting back to the inside which is never ideal at The Narv. MAN FROM MEMPHIS was excellent last week over 1400m behind Passport, Shamara and Wuhan Warrior and on the 7 day back-up he looks hard to hold out. He was a fourth up and fifth up winner last season and he looks to be peaking at the right time. MULTINOVA MAN sneaks back in grade and is going very well. STRONG HEART improves. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – ALKALINE WIN RACE 3 MRS KANGAROO comes through the Primative C3 which was run 3.5L faster than average. On the 7 day back-up, dropping back into a C1 and finding a race where she can lead she’ll be popular. She’s a jump and run 1000m type and thinking here they let her stride. CITY MISTRESS ran third behind Dragonflies last weekend after a 7 week let-up between runs. THE KINGS AFFAIR is a maiden in a C1 but that’s likely because this race is 1000m and she looks a short course filly at this stage. RAGING BEAUTY next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MRS KANGAROO WIN RACE 4 MIR went under last week after being crunched into odds on in betting. Got pocketed from the 600 and was unable to make a move under the big weight when Alan Kennedy wanted too. 7 days later he drops 4kg and finds a race where he should be able to punch out underneath runners into a commanding position. Like him (again). PROTECTED ACTION did win a similar race at Carnarvon on the 18th of May under Kristo Sardelic. CASTILLO DEL LAGO a watch but thinking he’ll want further? RAKIURA next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – MIR WIN RACE 5 HEARTFORD HOUSE steps out to 1200m here and drops down 2.5kg in weight from yet another honest effort here last week. Did break his maiden over 1200 at York so it shouldn’t hold any reservations distance wise and expecting that they’ll ride him aggressively early to either cross Mantelli or to make sure he stays outside the lead. WISE WORDS descended upon them last week and broke a long run of outs. She can win again. BITOVEMU won well at her first start for Ray Malpass. TALKABOUTYOU doesn’t win out of turn but was an encouraging dirt debut. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – HEARTFORD HOUSE WIN RACE 6 DRAGONFLIES is loving life on the dirt. He was a 23 start maiden and has now won back to back races and gets a wonderful opportunity to make it a third in this C3 1400. He won by 2.5L last Friday and was only extending further and further away from them over the concluding stages. WESTERN IMPACT ran second to Whos Your Mama 28 days ago in his best run on the dirt since arriving. If he reproduces he’s hard to hold out. WHOS YOUR MAMA showed she’s capable when sneaking back into these C3 events. WAR TACTICS was really popular in betting last week but never travelled. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DRAGONFLIES WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,3,4 3 3,4,5,6,7 1,2,3,6 Market Market
