Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on March 12, 2024March 12, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 First meeting on the new Caulfield Heath track, so obviously plenty to learn as to how it races. As an inner track, I’m inclined to default to the position that on speed would be no disadvantage. JOHNNY WATTS ON is in good form, race fit and can make his own luck. SUPERCONSTELLATION had a checkered passage before hitting the line strongly over 1000m on debut and should appreciate 1200m. BRIER hasn’t had much luck of late and comes through the same race as his stablemate Superconstellation. STEEL IMPACT has trialled ok and maps for a good run. Selections: 2,8,1,10 Suggested Bet: Johnny Watts On to win Race 2 AMEENA impressed winning in good time for the day on debut and looks hard to beat again. BLUE ALLURE comes through a strong race on debut. She got strung up in traffic on that occasion and has jumped out in good style to resume. ROCK POP was given a solid hit out winning a recent trial and looks ready to go on debut. LOVELYCUT and MISS SWIFT are among other debutants that have shown up at trials/jumpouts. LITTLE STIRRER and FLYING STRAZ have claims. Selections: 2,4,12,9 Suggested Bet: Ameena to win Race 3 SEE WHAT I SEE overcame difficulties to win impressively last start and looks destined for better races. NURSERY CHIME is racing in great form but doesn’t appear to have the upside of See What I See. PERLE BLEUE has jumped out in good style to resume at a suitable trip. FRIDAY AT FIVE, ROCKY PATH and QUITE THE LASS are in the mix, particularly for exotic bets. Selections: 6,5,1,4 Suggested Bet: See What I See to win Race 4 BAVICIA has retuned in good form and maps for a good run following his dominant second up win. NISHINO CRESCENT has been kept fresh since winning a similar race at Sale and jumped out nicely between runs. RUNNING ON TIME was held up at a crucial stage last time and may be better suited coming back to 1800m. Selections: 2,1,7,3 Suggested Bet: Bavicia to win Race 5 SUBRISING may bet at her best over further but she gets blinkers first time and has trialled well on this track to resume. INTREPID EAGLE had excuses last start, his previous form was great and he’s trialled in good fashion between runs. SCORCH may need some luck from the draw but has jumped out well. LINKS gets blinkers first time and has a fitness edge on a few. Selections: 9,1,2,5 Suggested Bet: Subrising each way Race 6 MISS ARIA has a touch of class, she probably wants further than 1000m but has jumped out well on this track and will be strong late. FRAGILE LOVE has also been jumping out in good style to resume. OUTBACK MISS will be fitter for a solid return be hind Austmarr, who went on to win a stakes race in Adelaide on Cup Day. ZOUSUKO has a consistent record and is another that will be strong late. Selections: 7,2,1,4 Suggested Bet: Miss Aria each way Race 7 FLYING ON A LIMB looked ready to go a few weeks ago but has been kept fresh and seemed to have plenty in reserve in her most recent jumpout. EPIC CENTRE will be part of what appears to be a solid tempo and could prove hard to get past. SIRENE STRYKER brings solid Tassie form and looks suited dropping back to handicap conditions from WFA. MR MOPPET maps for a soft run just behind the speed. Selections: 7,1,4,5 Suggested Bet: Flying on a Limb to win Race 8 Tough finish. HE’LL RIP will be approaching peak fitness third up, he’s tactically versatile and seems well place stepping up to 1500m. LEGEND OF DUBAI brings a solid first up record and has been jumping out nicely to kick off his second Australian prep. LORD DYNASTIC and LET’SBEFRANKBABY will both likely improve over further but have jumped out ok together. ADANDIMAN and SIMEON both are in the game, particulalrly if leaders are advantaged. EMPRESS ZOE and SUPERSTOCK have both been jumping out well enough to warrant consideration should they gain a start. Selections: 7,6,12,14 Suggested Bet: He’ll Rip to win in a tough one Market Market
