Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 6, 2024February 6, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 STEEL IMPACT improved nicely at her second start and has the speed and fitness to take a forward spot. JAMMIN JIMMY has been trialling and jumping out well for his debut. CASTLE ON HIGH ran well in NZ on debut and has jumped out nicley for his Autralian debut. VANBRUGH CASTLE has had a few chances but can make his own luck and has jumped out in typically good style. ROCKING THE BOAT has also jumped out well for his debut. Selections: 9,2,6,3 Suggested Bet: Steel Impact to win Race 2 SOAR BEYOND was outsprinted first up and looks suited stepping up to 1400m. SPARKLING has trialled well between runs and the form around her is strong. BRAZEN KINGDOM has run well at both his first up runs to date and kicks off at a suitable trip. STEPCHILD sprinted nicely to win when well backed on debut and shapes as through 1400m will be ok. Selections: 1,8,3,2 Suggested Bet: Quin/Exa: 1 & 8 Race 3 Not a lot of raced form to work with and most of the debutants have shown talent at trials and jumpouts. RUBIQUITY has looked sharp at the jumpouts and likely to roll forward from the draw. FLYER worked home solidly in a trial that contained some strong race day form. Stablemates LAST DRUID and MANSURA have both jumped out well as have BARBARIC LAD and BLING KING. Selections: 12,14,9,3 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 4 WILMOTT proved too strong for the short-priced favourite Haraldus first up and that horse has gone on to win impressively since. PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE was held up at a crucial stage last start and will appreciate 1600m. AIMING did some early work last time and was arguably in inferior ground over the final stages. ARIA ELECTRA is fit, consistent and not badly treated after the claim. Selections: 5,2,6,3 Suggested Bet: Wilmott to win Race 5 MISS PASSION chased bravely behind BOLD MANNER last start, she gets a weight advantage on that galloper and both have obvious claims. HELL HOUND worked through the line well in a leader dominated race first up and will strip fitter. VERSILIA was no match for a smart horse last time, she doesn’t win out of turn but will strip fitter third up and gets blinkers off. Selections: 8,2,1,6 Suggested Bet: Miss Passion each way Race 6 ENTITLED PRINCESS is racing in career best form and the form through Speranzoso reads well for this. MI ROCK ALY will strip fitter third up, she can make her own luck and the Star Vega form is also strong. LET FLY has had genuine excuses at her last couple and gets a claim form an in-form apprentice. HARD SQUEEZE was below her best last start but races well here. CHARISEE and ELOPED have cases coming through the ‘stewards protest’ race last week. Selections: 6,2,1,4 Suggested Bet: Entitled Princess each way Race 7 LAUDING was an eye catcher at Flemington last start and should relish the extra 100m. YELLOWBRICK ROAD will strip fitter second up and looked to have a bit to offer when he ran out of room behind Star Vega first up. GOTTABESAVVY also brings Star Vega form and also ran out of room late second up. SON OF SOLLY will strike his preferred firm ground and will strip fitter third up. HARD TO CROSS and MIDNIGHT GLOW have some claims. Selections: 6,4,3,7 Suggested Bet: Lauding to win Race 8 ROBRICK has been jumping out well against strong company and his debut run behind Mollynickers reads well for his only first up run to date. HEY FAT CAT is flying and has obviously improved since he was no match for Robrick at Flemington earlier in his career. ROCKABILLY REBEL makes her debut for the Patrick Payne stable and brings some solid NSW form. LET’S GET DOWN will strip fitter third up and has bumped into some talented gallopers so far this prep. SUBSIX won his maiden in good fashion first up. Selections: 2,1,4,9 Suggested Bet: Robrick to win Market Market
