RACE 2 No.3 Hatchet

Very keen on this one last start however things didn’t pan out from just prior to the home turn. A wide rival moved up around the outside putting the pressure on too early, he went back to third and just didn’t look comfortable chasing down the straight. Tomorrow he should lead clearly and give a good kick once heading for home, he’ll take plenty of catching.

RACE 3 No.3 Bulloo

Promising mare from the Stuart Kendrick yard who we haven’t spotted on race day since falling at the Sunshine Coast back in June. She turned up at the same track winning a trial recently in very impressive fashion, her form prior to the fall was very good finishing close up at Eagle Farm in early winter carnival races behind some very smart types. Expecting a big run fresh.

RACE 9 No.5 Aussie Nugget

Arguably should have won at Doomben a fortnight back when unable to secure clear running until far too late in the straight. Once he did, he really hit the line clocking in third just over a length from the winner Ulysses who he meets again here and far better off at the weights. Gate number one not ideal, I’ll pin my faith in Ben Thompson to find the gaps.
