NORTHAM

Race 5 No. 8 Classic Style 

Couldn’t get in last week off the outside with a runner inside pushing her even wider than she could recover from. Can muster into this quickly and if she leads or finds herself near the arm she will go close. 

Race 7 No. 1 Vegas City 

Got his box. Just needs to step cleanly and hold his position to the first turn then he can prove hard to hold out from there. No excuses with his good record off the inside. 

Race 8 No. 6 Cup Keeping and No. 8 Zipping Greta 

Only 3 chances. The red is short but gets back. Both 7 and 8 will go quickly here and one of them if not both can cross and that should be it. Simply a matter of who leads and they are priced to back both here.

Race 11 No. 8 Floki’s Revenge

Class runner who resumed last week with a super effort when he should have won. Has a lethal record off the 8 box and will take no end of stopping here. 

Race 12 No. 3 Banjo’s Flame

Came out running last week and that was curtains for the rest seeing she usually walks out and charges into it. Seems to have mended her box manners in more recent times and is placed to give another big sight here. 

THE MEADOWS

Race 2 No. 8 Tobin Frost 

Well what can we say?? We follow, he delivers. Every single time!! In rare form and producing his best ever at the present. Any box, any trip, any track, it matters not. He’s ready for these group 1 heats and while the box is slightly tricky, he only needs a clear run to again show these he’s not here for a picnic. Great EW show as usual. 

Race 4 No. 4 Hummock and No. 2 Spanish Miss

I have a huge opinion of this 4 dog. He’s got a special set of gears when he’s given room to operate. Will be a gun stayer when they step him up and is a chance here to show why. The 2 has an incredible record track and trip. Don’t dismiss her at the odds even though this is tough. She’s done it before.

Race 5 No. 6 Yachi Bale and No. 5 Keen

The 6 takes his first step into the big boys. They should beware though, he’s a weapon. This trip has been singing for him and he finally gets a look. Clear run, he will do the rest. The 5 has a dull spot through the middle but if he gets through that, will take no end of stopping as well. EW hope there also. 

Race 6 No. 7 Mepunga Warrior 

Wonderful campaigner who doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Turns up every start and has a tractable racing style that puts him in most finishes. Handles the box and is strong over this trip. Big chance.

Race 7 No. 1 Ariarne Bale 

Boxed to give a huge sight here. Can be a little tardy away but the inside should keep her close and her recent staying efforts has her in good stead for this assignment. If she’s close up the back, she’s the one to hold out late. 

Race 8 No. 5 Kelsey Bale

Coming off a luckless Gawler cup final run after breaking the last split record there in her heat. Flying at present and her best option here would be to miss the start and get to the fence with all the pace inside her. She will take all sorts of stopping then. 

Race 9 No. 6 Valor Bale and No. 1 Call Me Buster 

Good race and a couple at odds here. The 6 is part of a very good litter and he has his share of talent. Very fast when he’s allowed to run and only has to offset the draw to give a great EW sight. The 1 will get the right map here and if he’s handy up the back, he can hit the line and podium. Don’t ignore him.

Race 10 No. 4 Shipwreck

Gun Queenslander who can burn the clock to ash when he’s on the arm. His box manners have let him down in recent times but no denying that when he can get the start right, he has superior muster and therefore can’t be stopped if he finds the lure. Will run these into the ground if he takes over at stage.
