Scott Embry’s Tuesday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 31, 2022October 31, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CORN COB will very soon be weighted out of Geraldton (just like Startrade was) because he’s now getting 61kg in the top grade of racing. Julia Martin and connections can still pick off a couple more races with him on the Crayfish Coast before ultimately, he’ll need to head to town or be saved for the Batavia Sprint. Winner of his last two and after the 3kg claim see no reason why he can’t win again. Little ripper he is. HUMAN NATURE probably can’t cross Admiral Husson so is likely destined for the breeze. Great run last start considering he uncharacteristically raced off the speed. DARK PEAK comes up in grade but gets in with no weight. Capable type. KICK A GOAL SON should improve into the country area. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – CORN COB WIN RACE 2 HOLY SPY is bursting to win a race. Second to Yes Miss Jane, third to Primative (and subsequent metro maiden winner Rare Encounter) and then second to Charcoal Chaos in a tight photo. Just needs luck from another poor barrier. QUILLOW heads up the Brand Highway to Geraldton and while she was beaten 11L last start it was behind Wild Belle (who won by over 6.5L) and it was in a race where they smashed the clock. FROST DAVID was good first-up at Belmont when running third. ENDURING MEMORY trialled well and raced fairly fresh. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – HOLY SPY WIN RACE 3 YES MISS JANE broke her maiden at the opening meeting at Geraldton and then most recently finished third behind Sofia’s Symphony and Mystery Man. Think that will prove to be a strong form race and she drops 1kg and draws well. Think this is winnable for her. SILVER BO let rip with a huge turn of acceleration to win first-up from last on the corner when ending up out against the outside fence. Repeats the run and likely repeats the result. GLASS OFF was huge first-up and then never got into the race second-up. EDMOND is awkwardly caught between grades. 62.5kg in a C2 (before the claim) makes life tough for Gordon Spowart. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – YES MISS JANE WIN RACE 4 MARINSKY BALLET won a 46+ at York first-up beating Weapon of Choice (subsequent winner) and Horizon. Went to a C3 at Belmont and missed the kick before showing little to no interest in competing. Last start finished less than 2L off them in a C3 which has already produced Vitalize for an impressive victory. Well placed into a C2 and has leading country rider Tash Faithfull in the saddle. BE SEATED has been popular in betting at each and every run this preparation. Back to 1400m and some weight relief both big ticks. COLOUR ME QUICK can improve quickly if leading. MULTINOVA MAN is always there abouts. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – MARINSKY BALLET WIN RACE 5 THE SINGING TIGER was something beaten first-up. Went to the paddock as an impressive 58+ winner in April and resumed in that same grade without a trial and with 50.5kg on his back. He was repeatedly held up in the home straight and looked to be bolting before flashing at them in the final strides. Replay watchers will be all over him. CHIX CHATTER the stablemate is more than capable of making a contest of it. Versatile and won the Ladies Day Sprint after finishing second to 60+ winner Real Grace. SUN POWER comes through back to back 70+ assignments. Well placed into this. DELAGO DEHERO next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE SINGING TIGER WIN RACE 6 HONORFIC won a 68+ at Carnarvon four starts ago before heading to the Peter Evans Memorial and Carnarvon Cup. Was over a month between runs when dropping back to 1600m at Ascot and finishing only 2.5L behind Mystery Island, Strike Now and Stylax. That’s great form for a Geraldton 58+ and after the Luke Campbell claim he looks well in. Nice race for him. KAZKAZI possibly doesn’t stay and now back in trip seems to have found a great race. Watch for him late. ARABIAN RICHES has been popular with local punters in both runs back. GRACE DU ROI was better last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – HONORFIC WIN RACE 7 SANS LE SOU was super fresh at 1113m when finishing third behind Jupiter Rising and Human Nature. That’s the same race that Corn Cob came through and he’s won both of his starts since, including when Sans Le Sou finished third behind him. Draws a nice gate, maps a treat and gets out to 1400m. Looks a great race for her. NO CHANGE has been contesting harder races than this all preparation. He can sit right up on the speed and looms as the main danger. MYCROFT is always dangerous with a late split. QUALITY FAIR improves if finding the top. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SANS LE SOU WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5,7 1,2,3 1,3,5 1,4,8 Market Market
