Darren Clayton’s Redcliffe Preview Posted on March 4, 2022March 4, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton Race 1 BITCOIN (3) has been charting higher in recent outings since returning from a spell. A winner two starts back, he can force the issue early and look to take control of proceedings. EXPLICIT CASTLE (1) was beaten 6m by Bitcoin two starts back and followed that with an unsuited position in transit. He can stalk the speed here. THE IDEAL DANCER (5) was strong to the wire last start from the second line behind It Aint The Money. He likes The Triangle with a record of 2 from 3. GOLIGHTLY (7) will be hemmed away in the run here but will be probing for the gaps. Selections: 3-1-5-7 Suggested Bet: BITCOIN (3) to win Race 2 HAMMERTIME HARLEY (7) was large in defeat last start when three-wide through the first 600m to the chair and then only beaten 1m. Following a good beginner, she can be stalking. THE DARLING (9) is 3 from 3 since crossing the Nullarbor and overcame gate 6 at this track in her first Qld outing. Reliant on tempo, look for her attacking late. GET READY TO ROCK (1) has faced some horrid draws in recent starts and will relish the tight alley at a track where she has a nice record when leading. WEEWAH (5) steps out in mare’s grade for the first time since arriving with Ron Sallis but is given no favours from the gate. Selections: 7-9-1-5 Suggested Bet: HAMMERTIME HARLEY (7) to win Race 3 ROCK BOTTOM (5) was a smart winner when attacking the wire three starts back and has placed in both starts since. He is afforded no favours from this alley in a tricky race. FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1) steps out for Donny Smith for the first time and was a midweek winner of this grade of race five runs back. Gates have not helped since and from the ace looms large. BEAU CISHLOM (6) was not suited when asked to sit parked last start but can attack off the pace. KINGOFTHESTARS (7) is better served in open space but with an economic trip will be searching for gaps. Selections: 5-1-6-7 Suggested Bet: ROCK BOTTOM (5) to win Race 4 L L COOL J (6) faces a task from this gate, but importantly has shown he has a penchant for the Peninsula, undefeated in three appearances on this deck. Forget his last start when striking trouble. CLINTAL DO (1) has struck trouble in the run at his past two starts separated by a spell. Mapping for the cosy trip in behind the speed, he can challenge for a minor prize. IDEAL WORLD (7) was stamped urgent out of the machine last start and took them all the way. He lands options as the lone runner off the second line. STAR GALLERIA (3) has the class and ability but is searching to recapture it in what will be his first look at The Triangle which cab always be a tough ask. Selections: 6-1-7-3 Suggested Bet: L L COOL J (6) to win Race 5 SHEZ GOT BLING (3) has had a few attempts to win one of these types of races but might just have the right conditions in this one. Press the trigger early to find position can aid her chance in a wide-open contest. JEWEL OF PEAK (9) is better served when able to fire off the arm and will be chasing here. Only collared in the closing strides two runs back, this is well within reach. TINGE OF FEAR (5) has hit the board her past three and looks the one to apply some heat early. BRILLIANT ART (6) faces an ask from outside the front line but if able replicate the effort of her last start win will help the cause. Selections: 3-9-5-6 Suggested Bet: SHEZ GOT BLING (3) to win Race 6 DANGERZONE (3) only had the barrier to blame last start in defeat when resuming for his 3YO season. Hemmed away and never getting a clean crack at them, he was only beaten a neck. The gate is in his favour over the main threat. AWAYWEGO (6) is the obvious danger but not served well by coming up with the outside alley. Closing out smartly last start from back in the pack, he looks the only danger. BONNIES CAM (4) grabbed 3rd last start behind the in-form Smooth Cash and will be searching for a spot early. CALVERT HOT SHOT (2) was a tidy winner two starts back and settling handy to the speed will aid his place chances. Selections: 3-6-4-2 Suggested Bet: Trifecta 3 / 6 / 2-4-5-8 Race 7 IT AINT THE MONEY (5) was too strong for them last start after finding the front and keeping them chasing in posting a 7m margin. The gate stings but he is in form. TAROONA BROMAC (2) was not asked for much early last start and as a result has the ODM embargo lifted. With the early hustle, he looks first to the pegs. COMMODORE JUJON (1) worked hard in the run last start from outside the front line when sent to sit parked. The cosy trip on a track where he has a great record looks enticing. MAJOR FERNCO (4) is not out of this and is going a little better than what his returns may suggest. Selections: 5-2-1-4 Suggested Bet: COMMODORE JUJON (1) win/place 1×4 Race 8 KING TRITON (2) has been to the track three times this campaign and his numbers might not be great, he has been a little better than they suggest. An improved gate can see him turn around the fortunes. THE IRISH EAGLE (8) powered up in front here four starts back to take them all the way in smart time. Following through early to secure position will aid his cause. LA SAFRON (7) lost his momentum when he needed space here on Wednesday night and he looks in fear of a repeat position. WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3) could be the knockout in this battle after being beaten by the gate last start. Selections: 2-8-7-3 Suggested Bet: KING TRITON (2) to win Race 9 BRYDON EARL (1) will have just his second Qld appearance after being beaten by the circumstances first up when buried and left flat when the power went on. He finds the gate and conditions that appeal. RECIPE FOR DREAMING (7) was a passing lane winner last start here at The Triangle when sniping late. He maps for the repeat performance. RING THE TILL (3) has been in career best form winning five from his past seven. A failure to hit the board in seven on this deck is worrying. STICK MAN (5) will be third up from a spell after going under in red figures second up and given no favours from the gate. Selections: 1-7-3-5 Suggested Bet: BRYDON EARL (1) to win – (1/7) exacta / quinella Market Market
