Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 6, 2021July 6, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NOBLE SCOT was a little hit and miss in his juvenile preparation but hopefully with the experience under his belt he can start to fulfil the potential he has shown at trials on a number of occasions. His second placing to Our Danni beating home subsequent winners Red Inferno and Choice Bid would see him highly competitive in this. SHOULDER STRAP returned to racing off a space of 466 days at Belmont when finishing a respectable fifth behind Celebrity Man and subsequent winner Choice Bid. Natural improvement sees her the danger. MASARU has trialled up well enough to run a race on debut. DREAM EVIL was fully tested at trials but kept giving. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – NOBLE SCOT WIN RACE 2 WINGS AWAY hasn’t been seen for 32 days but the two runs in this preparation look excellent on paper for this. Second behind Jedi Mind beating home Celebrity Man and then third behind Saigon Sizzler, Memorable Miss, beating home Stylax and Buster Bash. Lands a prominent position and Vern Brockman fresh off a double last Thursday. HELL RAIDER really caught the eye in his most recent 1000m Pinjarra straight dash when coming up the flat side. BETTER IN KIT backs up off 7 days, Pike sticks, goes close again. COMET EXPRESS brings X-Factor to the race but likely needs further. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – WINGS AWAY WIN RACE 3 JUST PEACHY hasn’t drawn a gate all preparation and has still been running excellent races and sneaking under the guard. First-up hit the line powerfully behind Sketta, Real Senor and Short Talks and last start was never a winning chance in running when Paul Harvey threw the anchor on Takemehometonight and turned it into a sit-sprint. Doesn’t have to get back to last here and could be a sharp improver. AMELIA’S BELIEF is a 2 year old taking on the older horses. All the runs last preparation was beaten a fair way but by far more talented rivals than he meets here. TRADED CROWN ran well first-up and Choice Bid made the form look good last week. GOT YA is drawn to get it soft. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – JUST PEACHY EACHWAY RACE 4 SPRINGSURE LAD did nothing wrong last preparation when finishing in the money at all three outings. Finished third behind Prized Nemesis on debut over 1200 and attacked the line hard when held up at a crucial stage. Might be going a run too soon with him and might need further but off his recent trial he looks forward enough to give this a shake on a bog track. WISE CRACKER should nearly breeze from the gate and Paul Harvey is a genius at controlling the speed from that position. LE GRANDE RISQUE has some X-Factor about him. Was well supported at odds on debut and the recent trial was strong. SUPERIORIZE aka Paddy The Foal makes his long awaited debut for hobby breeder (on and off the track) and RacesWA Twitter sensation Heatons Beatens. Trials more than a pass mark. Go well son. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – SPRINGSURE LAD WIN RACE 5 MR FAHRENHEIT and EXQUISITE STAR both back up off 7 days from the same race and both step out 400m to the staying trip of 2000 for the first time. As we see time and time again in these winter staying races the alternate form is the superior form. Siding with EXQUISITE STAR based on the level of market support shown last start and the fact that Troy Turner sums up these staying races as well as anyone. MR FAHRENHEIT beat her home last start and can do so again without surprising. Ran well for Keshaw Dhurun. ALKALINE ran home in very good closing sections last start which goes to show how much of a walk that race was. COUNT GRUNDY looks very one paced. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – EXQUISITE STAR WIN RACE 6 MEMORABLE MISS looks to have found her race. Finished second at 1200m behind Saigon Sizzler in a race dominated from the front, finished third behind Short Talk and Forty Niner when doing her best work late and then was simply run off her legs against 3yo 0MWLY company when only beaten 2.5 by Ghost Who Walks and Cross Statement. Steps out to 1500m, can hold a position from the draw and gets her chance. BUSTER BASH made Dark Lass work for it last start and if she gets into the gates (seems to be getting better) and out of the gates she can come across from out deep. BOBALONG BOB is a 2 year old taking on the older horses but the two sixth placings have been encouraging. Needs the trip. RAN A RED LIGHT gets it soft along the fence. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 12 – 9 Suggested Bet – MEMORABLE MISS WIN RACE 7 NO SURRENDER has been a head scratcher at his last two outings. First-up carried 60.5kg in a 3 year old 62+ when finishing fourth behind The Spruiker, Timely Outburst and Allmamoney. Since then was tailed off in the Raconteur and a 66+. Strikes a wet track for the first time in the preparation, comes back sharply in grade to a C5 and is a winner on soft7 and soft6 tracks. Noted front running rider Chloe Azzopardi takes over and if he finds the fence he should be there for a long way. MR MT WALKER thrived in the wet first-up when plunged in betting and recording one of the softest wins you’ll see. NATIVE CHIMES has hit a purple patch of form but is drawn sticky. TRADENSIA is drawn to sit leader’s back or hold out No Surrender. From either position she should be more than competitive. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – NO SURRENDER WIN RACE 8 TO RISE AGAIN will need to come across from the ‘wrong’ side of the Pinjarra Straight but his overall 1000m form is very hard to knock. Should Hot Mix start Wednesday and not Thursday he’s the one to beat. Gets through wet tracks, goes well over the sprint trip and is proven on multiple occasions down the straight. HOT MIX is double nominated for Wednesday Belmont and Thursday Pinjarra. She is a lightly raced and progressive 3 year old filly who should be finishing in the money regardless of which 1000m scamper Martin Allan chooses for her. Showed a big turn of acceleration when last in work, the only query will be the distance and whether she needs a bit further. DARK CITY has been hitting the line powerfully this campaign. ALEXIS OLYMPIA is one that you can’t have on paper but has always shown glimpses of brilliance. Numbers: 2 – (1) – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – TO RISE AGAIN WIN RACE 9 GALLANT RANGER may not have the same level of brilliance as a Double Demerits or a Stylax but he should hold a tactical advantage on the pair in running from the draw. First-up ran well when doing it tough in a fast run C1 behind Choice Command and Spirited Session and last start ended up a long way off them and made a sustained run throughout. Goes round eachway and runs an eachway race. DOUBLE DEMERITS put the writing on the wall on debut and backed it up with a dominant display last start. Looks progressive. STYLAX was the best backed horse in the country last start and bless him he got the job done well. Horse on the rise and capable of overcoming the bad gate. SEE YA CHAMP is going super and just needs luck. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – GALLANT RANGER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,7,12 1,2,3,4 1,(2),4,5,6,8,12 1,3,6,9 Market Market
