Scott Embry’s Thursday Belmont Preview Posted on May 13, 2020May 12, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FINAL CHILL has been solid at two outings back and could sneak under the radar here. First-up was slow out when finishing a well beaten 6th but behind subsequent winners Jaguar Grey and Mims Win. That has been a strong maiden and now drawing a gate Jade McNaught jumps on. VITAL IMAGE was strong last start and must be respected but the gate hurts. DOMINEER is backing up off 7 days and like the other Parnham galloper will need luck from a sticky draw. NIGHT SESSION has been there abouts her entire career. Harvey on catches the eye. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – FINAL CHILL WIN RACE 2 MISS MALIBU is having her 14th run this preparation (and her career). Has been knocking on the door her last couple including a placing behind Blackwater bay and I Hope You Dance. Last start was given a peach by Corver and expecting the same here. APACHE RABBIT was well thought of last start coming out of the hot La Vina form maiden. Another step up in trip suits her. BONJOUR NOIR is a 2 year old taking on the older horses. Big raw type who should eat up the mile. HOMELINE was huge last start at 200-1. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 15 – 4 Suggested Bet – MISS MALIBU WIN RACE 3 BOSNIPP is one that many punters have been patiently waiting for since holding Cliffs of Comfort with ease at the Lark Hill trials. Has been nominated, accepted and scratched three times without making her debut. If she gets to the races eyes will be on her. LIES N DECEPTION has been up and down in distances but with Mitch Pateman on and a good draw he is a definite winning chance. SMART PRINCESS should be right up in the firing line from the awkward draw. SPECIAL PICTURE trialled like she would need a bit further than 1000m back in October 2019. Interesting to see her come to the races without trialling this prep. starts when heavily commissioned in the market. Best race of the day. Numbers: 13 – 2 – 8 – 14 Suggested Bet – BOSNIPP WIN RACE 4 CHOKSLAM has gone under as a short priced favourite at her last two outings but drawn wide looks more suitable for her. She looks like one who will appreciate being ridden cold rather than sitting over the speed. Impresses at trials when she is allowed to stride through her gears. Giving her another go in a weak maiden. SILENT ACT has been right in the mix at every start this campaign and won’t geta better chance than this. SILVER SCOUT returns to the races but is dealt a tough draw to overcome. LOADS OF DREAMS ran an improved race last time out. Numbers: 12 – 14 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHOKSLAM WIN RACE 5 RESISTANCE can be a bit of a tough mare to catch but on her day she is definitely good enough. Horses are running for Madi Derrick and this is a mare who will appreciate some weight relief in this grade. Two starts ago hit the line hard in a great form reference race behind Utgard Loki, British Bessy, Lorentinio and Laufey. Reproduces that run and she’s hard to beat. I’M PRETTY is hard to fault. Her form is all strong and she continues to go on her merry way through the grades. SPEEDY MISS should get it soft from the draw. TURBO POWER was much better last start after a slow beginning to the campaign. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – RESISTANCE EACHWAY RACE 6 LEVITATE broke maiden status comfortably at Bunbury back in November when leading them a merry dance and then sat off the speed and flooded home in Saturday 3 year old grade in a leader dominated affair. Then ran into Laverrod, Boomtastic and Downforce at the end of the preparation. Recent trial was soft and this looks an easy kill to resume. INDIGO WILD ran into a smart Simon Miller 3 year old last start and unfortunately looks to have again. WESTERNIZE has been consistent ever since breaking her maiden in a canter at Esperance. ROBERTA an improver if she can overcome the draw. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – LEVITATE WIN RACE 7 VINTAGE STOCK is normally fairly consistent when she finds form and while 61kg can be a really big leveller she has been in good form in tougher races than this. If she can cart up three deep with cover from the 600 she has the firepower to get over them late. WE’LL MEET AGAIN was bad last week but didn’t look suited to a sit, sprint affair. DEPUTANO jumps up sharply in trip but her 3 year old form is super for a race like this. BLAISZEN CAZAH has been going well and draws a nice gate to sit over the speed. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 6 – 14 Suggested Bet – VINTAGE STOCK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 12,14 2,3,4,5,7,8 2 1,2,6,7,11,12,13,14 Market Market
