Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 1, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ROYAL PLANET is race fit and ran a nice race two starts back at Belmont Park when fourth to Proconsent, Grand Design and Tap The Go Go. She is on the minimum, loves Geraldton and has shades put back on. If she can reproduce that effort with the shades added looks very hard to beat. CALAMARI SAFARI is speedy and should get first crack at the Geraldton rail. Big danger on paper. GOLDEN ACRES gets it soft along the fence. WOODMANS KEEP can improve quickly. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROYAL PLANET WIN Race 2 VEEBEE should be winning a maiden sooner rather than later. Showed glimpse of ability for Rhys Radford and races on speed. Dropping back sharply in distance but strikes a moderate field. POPPIES has had many, many chances but did pinch one at Carnarvon fresh before it was declared a no-race. CHARGED FLAME was comfortably beaten in a recent trial but showed enough over East. OSIPOVA joins a new stable and is racing very flat. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – VEEBEE WIN Race 3 FRENCH ESCAPE simply did not handle the dirt all preparation. Back onto the grass, on the fresher side and with last year’s King of Geraldton aboard he is worth a throw at the stumps. BAI BAI has only had two starts off the dirt and both were in relatively weak maidens. She is in form and racing particularly well but has to be some sort of risk at the shorts. CLEVE’S WATCHING has been consistent all preparation in Carnarvon and draws the inside to enjoy the box seat run. Doesn’t win out of turn but gets his chance. RUBY’S LEGACY is hard to catch but capable. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – FRENCH ESCAPE EACHWAY Race 4 BAY PUBLISHER has been a wonderful Geraldton horse for a number of stables over a number of years. 6 wins and 8 minors at the track and always puts in a nice run fresh. First-up last preparation romped in a C5. STRIDE OUT was taking all before him late in the season at Carnarvon. Hard to fault his form but up in grade and back onto the grass. FLYING ROAR looks an astute purchase for the Midwest season and will be very hard to toss once getting to ~1400. BLACK DYNAMITE deserved a win last prep after racing ultra-consistently. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – BAY PUBLISHER WIN Race 5 DANCE QUEEN is a former Eastern States mare who trialed up nicely at Geraldton for her debut. Won with her ears pricked and Andrew Castle who rode both Parker first-uppers elects to ride. DASH FOR KNICKERS didn’t handle the going at Carnarvon. Some of her grass form is easily good enough to win this. MISS DITCHBURN improved into the preparation and was big in defeat at the end of the campaign. DEE TRUMP has been the target of support at big odds recently. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – DANCE QUEEN WIN Race 6 FOUR LETTER WERD has not fired a solitary shot this time in and now finds himself transferred to the stables of Sarah Childs. Should be winning a 58+ race sooner rather than later if he can recapture anywhere near his best. SWEET TALKIN’ went through a purple patch in Carnarvon midseason. COMPARATIVE back on the grass should improve after looking like he struggled on the dirt surfaces. REIDY not impossible off a soft run. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – FOUR LETTER WERD WIN Race 7 MEGAZONE is the class galloper and even though he lumps 62kg should be awfully hard to beat in this. Came from last on the corner to reel in subsequent metro midweek winner I’m Pretty at his most recent and has natural gate speed to put himself into the box seat. SWEET HELEN trialed very nicely against some impressive animals at Lark Hill for a race of this nature. SILVER CLOUD THREE has had very consistent preparations in Geraldton. BLACK RUBY ROSE ran well fresh and joins a quality yard. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – MEGAZONE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,6 3,7,9 1,2,3 1,10 Market Market
