Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on June 21, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 4 No.7 Sesar Ex Steven O’Dea trained galloper now with Team Hawkes resuming from a break tomorrow. Now we haven’t seen him since finishing out of the placings in the Group 1 Coolmore down the Flemington straight in the spring when less than 5 lengths from Sunlight and co in a very strong race. Prior to that first up he won the Roman Consul here on a Heavy track, we’ll be racing on a similar surface tomorrow which will suit him nicely. RACE 5 No.6 Pelethronius Fitter for two runs back from a break and although his form hasn’t been overly impressive the fact he strikes a likely Heavy track is the key factor. His record of 4 wins from 5 tries on the surface speaks for itself and with the claim from a good draw represents solid each-way value. The wetter the better for him! Race 8 No.4 Southern Lad Just busting to win a race and tomorrow looks the day for him to break through this prep. Only lightly raced with a good overall record he’s been very strong to the line all three starts this time in. He won’t have any trouble in the wet ground as he placed on Heavy last start and is unbeaten at his only two starts on Soft going to date. Good gate, claim, top jock, plenty of ticks!
