Chris Nelson’s Sunshine Coast Best Bets Posted on September 21, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 2 No. 6 Smartypy Ex NSW galloper now with Chris Munce who has been nothing but impressive winning both local starts. Overcoming traffic problems two back she really attacked the line once clear, last run always in the clear she charged away to score by over 2 lengths. She takes a step up in grade tomorrow however the way she’s put the opposition away in those wins that shouldn’t be an issue. RACE 5 No.2 Hi I’m Back Consistent galloper from the Tony Gollan stable who resumes tomorrow. Interestingly he’s been narrowly beaten fresh at his past two campaigns off the back of only a single barrier trial. He goes into tomorrow’s race with two trials under his belt and note he’s won both in soft fashion. Monitoring the market closely however I get the feeling he’s been set for a first up go. RACE 6 No.11 Phabeni Ballina trained galloper who didn’t have the clearest of room in the straight at Doomben a fortnight back before closing off nicely when seeing daylight late finishing just over a length from the winner. Only lightly raced his form around provincial NSW was consistent last campaign and he did place second up. The step up to 1200m tomorrow looks ideal at this early stage of his preparation.
