Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 1, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MS PACE MACHRIHANISH (6) ran a great 2nd behind Chok Chai before finishing at the tail in a strong field at Bunbury. He drops in class for this and is clearly the one to beat. RESPONDER (8) was a strong winner here last week in a similar field and must be respected despite the draw. RAFFAELLO (5) couldn’t sprint with RESPONDER (8) when 2nd to him in that event but would be suited by a solid tempo. ZACHARIA (3) was a fair 5th in stronger company last week and is nicely drawn. Tips: 6 8 5 3 Suggested Bet: MACHRIHANISH (6) to win. Race 2: CLIPSAL ICONIC MS PACE ZENNART (1) has resumed from a long layoff in great form with impressive wins at his first two starts back followed by a game 2nd here last week. He is clearly the one to beat but has drawn the pole which could be his undoing as he has only been asked to come out of the gate on one occasion. VAMPIRO (3) won three on end before a strong 3rd to Runrunjimmydunn and is the main danger. THREE KINGS (10) will be looking to trail the favourite and can be placed from this draw. ALL THE TORQUE (2) is racing consistently and has the gate speed to make things interesting early. Tips: 1 3 10 2 Suggested Bet: ZENNART (1) to win. Race 3: CLIPSAL SATURN MS PACE RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (10) was beaten as a $1.04 favourite before making amends with consecutive victories. He was particularly impressive in leading throughout to beat Our Zak Whitby and can overcome the backline draw. DANA DUKE (6) wasn’t suited facing the breeze when 4th to Chok Chai last start but must be considered on his previous victory at this track over Sheer Rocknroll. MIGHTY MR SHARKEY (7) is racing consistently but will have to work hard from out here. YOUR EXCUSED (1) should lead and will give a sight. Tips: 10 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (10) to win. Race 4: CLIPSAL 56 SERIES MS PACE MISTER VERSACE (3) should be close to peak fitness after three runs back from a spell and was a close up 3rd last week. He is nicely drawn and should be right in the finish. SAY IT NOW (1) is flying with a win and 2nd from his last two starts, both from the breeze. He is drawn to lead tonight and should give a great sight. REAL LUCKY (11) hasn’t finished further back than 2nd at his last six starts and will be charging home. ZACH MAGUIRE (8) is the class runner of the field and must be considered despite the wide draw. Tips: 3 1 11 8 Suggested Bet: MISTER VERSACE (3) to win. Race 5: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO FILLIES SALES CLASSIC FINAL HAS NO FEAR (10) has impressed with two wins from her three race starts and overcame a wide draw to record the fastest heat win. She is drawn awkwardly here but could land in front of her main rival and should prove hard to beat. CAP IN HAND (7) has led throughout to win at his two starts and looks to be a classy type. SOHO WESTEROS (4) faced the breeze and battled on well to finish 2nd in her heat and is drawn to make her presence felt. SOHO INTERCEPTOR (6) ran on nicely to finish 2nd in the other heat and can be in the money. Tips: 10 7 4 6 Suggested Bet: HAS NO FEAR (10) to win. Race 6: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS SALES CLASSIC FINAL SHOCKWAVE (3) was nice 3rd on debut before starting from a wide draw and impressing in outsaying SPORTS CENTRAL (10). He is the best drawn of the fancied runners and is the one to beat. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (9) was the most impressive heat winner when facing the breeze and racing away to record the quickest time but has the widest draw to overcome. SPORTS CENTRAL (10) was a close 2nd in his heat and will enjoy a softer run tonight. JOHNNYS GRANGE (2) had every chance in his heat but has the draw to be prominent. Tips: 3 9 10 2 Suggested Bet: SHOCKWAVE (3) to win. Race 7: CLIPSAL C-BUS MS PACE ROCKIN THE BOYS (3) led and knocked up late when 6th to Gotta Go Gabbana at her first run back from a spell. She will strip fitter for that run and will appreciate the shorter trip. HOT FRATERNITY (9) couldn’t get into the race in a stronger field last start but was placed at his previous four runs and should be thereabouts. NOTHINBUTADREAM (5) hasn’t had much luck at her last three starts and can improve here. LADY LUCA (1) did beat Red October from an inside draw four starts back and should be considered on that effort. Tips: 3 9 5 1 Suggested Bet: ROCKIN THE BOYS (3) to win. SuperPick - Race 7 No. 3 ROCKIN THE BOYS - Money Back Race 8: PUSH BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 3YO MS PACE SPEED MAN (2) started from the back line before working to the breeze outside GOLDEN STATE (4) when a 1.6m 2nd to that pacer last start. He is drawn inside his main rival tonight and can turn the tables. GOLDEN STATE (4) has impressed in winning both starts this campaign and is the obvious danger. ONE OFF DELIGHT (1) is likely to sit on his stablemate from this draw and should finish in the top three. ROCK ME OVER (5) is the best of the rest. Tips: 2 4 1 5 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (2) to win.
