Wodeton set to bloom at Rosehill Posted on September 12, 2025September 12, 2025 | Posted by TABtouch After a narrow and controversial defeat in the San Domenico Stakes, rising colt Wodeton is set to line up in the Group 2 Run To The Rose at Rosehill Gardens, where he’ll face familiar rivals Raging Force, Tempted, and Nepotism in what’s shaping up to be a pivotal clash for Spring contenders. Wodeton was one of the early favourites heading into the San Domenico Stakes, and he delivered a strong performance, finishing second to Raging Force. The margin was tight, with some observers expecting a protest due to interference in the final stages. Despite the loss, Wodeton’s run was full of merit, showing tactical speed and resilience against a high-quality field. The Run To The Rose will see Wodeton renew rivalries with current favourite Raging Force as well as Tempted, who ran a close third to Wodeton’s second in the 2024 Golden Slipper. Also in the field is the lightly raced emerging star Nepotism, who took out April’s Champagne Stakes. This Saturday not only offers Wodeton a chance to turn the tables on Raging Force, it’s an opportunity for the Chris Waller runner to solidify his credentials ahead of the major Spring targets. Wodeton’s team is taking a measured approach to his prep, with a clear eye on progression and long-term goals. While no firm targets have been locked in, the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas remain logical next steps depending on his performance in the Run To The Rose. Wodeton may have missed out narrowly in the San Domenico Stakes, but his consistency, professionalism, and untapped potential make him a serious player this spring. With another chance to prove himself against elite company, all eyes will be on Rosehill this weekend.
