Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on November 21, 2023November 21, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ELBA has been working home strongly, she looks suited stepping up to 1400m and is drawn to settle in a more forward position than last start. MILITARY AWARD hit the line well first up and should also appreciate 1400m. RED MILE has been jumping out quite well and looks suited at this trip on debut. CUMIN SPINNER comes through the same race as Military Award and is another that should appreciate a rise in distance. Selections: 8,2,4,3 Suggested Bet: Elba to win Race 2 LONG LOST FRIEND has some upside and has been trialling well to resume. WHO DARES has been consistent, he’ll strip fitter third up and drops in grade. SISTERHOOD is another with upside and she’s ben jumping out ok. MORRYL MORAL has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs and may have been in inferior ground last time. SHE’S PRETTY RICH and SHAKATTAK have claims. Selections: 9,1,6,3 Suggested Bet: Long Lost Friend each way Race 3 There was plenty of merit in the victory of ALECTRONA stepping up to 1400m last start, when she kicked clear after having plenty of company on speed. FLYING FIZZ scored impressively on debut and looks capable of measuring up to this stronger company. MAURICIO showed some versatility when stepping up to this distance race last time. SERASANA will strip fitter third up and drops in grade. If ROSE OF SHALAA also drops in grade, if she can relax better from the inside draw she has the talent to improve dramatically. Selections: 3,4,7,1 Suggested Bet: Alectrona to win Race 4 Even race. ONE LAST KISS won well second up and looks better suited stepping up to 2100m. UNUSUAL PEARL will strip fitter third up and gets blinkers first time. UNIQUELY won an easier race in good style last start. KIPYEGON should be close to peak fitness and should appreciate the rise in trip. SEA SPEEDWELL was well below market expectations last start but her previous form had merit. SPEAK and STORMY GREY are in the mix. Selections: 3,9,5,6 Suggested Bet: One Last Kiss each way Race 5 NORTHERN BARRAGE was competitive in some strong races last campaign. He’s had three recent jumpouts to prepare for this trip first up and looks hard to beat. TOP HONOURS covered ground last start and is drawn for a much better run. UNFAIR DISMISSAL is fit, consistent and can make his own luck. TAKARA gets blinkers first time and a claim for Carleen Hefel. Selections: 1,5,2,9 Suggested Bet: Northern Barrage to win Race 6 DIRTY GRIN is due for a change of luck and will be close to his to third up. PLENTY OF AMMO impressed winning first up and has been trialling well with a freshen between runs. JENNIFERWISH hasn’t had much luck at her two recent runs, is she can secure clear running from an inside draw she looks a strong winning chance. BELMIA began better last start and stuck on ok, she should appreciate the rise to 1400m. Selections: 7,8,4,6 Suggested Bet: Dirty Grin each way Race 7 SHE’S NOTORIOUS will strip fitter for a solid first up run behind a progressive galloper and looks set for a good run near the speed. CANTINA recovered from a slow start to run well last time and the extra trip should suit. LITTLE MIIS GUTSAA races well here and drops in grade on her recent runs. LOVE TONIGHT has returned in good form and is in the mix with GABSTAR and FRENCHMANS BAY. Selections: 8,9,7,11 Suggested Bet: She’s Notorious each way Race 8 MORNINGTON GLORY has been in great form for the new stable this preparation and is shaping as though 1200m will be ok. BLUESTONE LANE has jumped out nicely since his first up run over 955m and boasts a great record over this trip. BETTER LINK showed a lot in his first campaign and has been jumping out well to resume. DAILY BUGLE impressed winning over this course and distance first up last campaign and will be hitting the line strongly. PRANCING SPIRIT is racing in great form and is right in the game with luck from a wide draw. Selections: 7,3,9,8 Suggested Bet: Mornington Glory each way Market Market
