Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on January 14, 2025January 14, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ENTRUSTING won a maiden of some depth first up and looks capable of winning again in this grade. CHARITIES is fit, racing well and maps for a good run. DJOCKOVIC will be better over further but has been jumping out quite well to kick off at this trip. EAGLE EXPRESS got a deserved win last start and should get every chance from a good draw with Lane aboard. Selections: 4,5,1,6 Suggested Bet: Entrusting to win Race 2 THUNDERING FALCON, HE’S A TIGER and JUST EXPLOSIVE all come through the same race and that looks a key form reference. Of the trio, Thundering Falcon has a good base for this trip and looks ready to break through. TAKEMETOTHEMOON covered ground on debut and under the circumstances there was plenty of merit in her run. PEACEFUL PROTEST resumes after throat surgery and has been jumping out in good style for a stayer. Selections: 8,2,10,3 Suggested Bet: Thundering Falcon to win Race 3 POP AWARD brings some strong form lines, particularly through Kundalini, and has been jumping out well to kick off her second prep. SPIRITED DEFENCE has been jumping out well and looks a coming maiden winner. GROUSE MOUNTAIN has jumped out in good fashion for the new stable and has been consistent in her career to date. TURFACTION swaps winkers for blinkers and the winner of his last start has won again in stronger company. Selections: 7,2,5,3 Suggested Bet: Pop Award to win Race 4 LEAVING LAS VEGAS comes through a maiden with plenty of winning form coming out of it at Morphettville last start and looks hard to beat. TOP MAVERICK shapes as a strong danger with blinkers on following a good debut behind what appeared to be a promising galloper. QUICK SPELL improved nicely at his second start and should be further improved. DASHER was ok first up and will strip fitter. Selections: 4,7,5,3 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 4&7 Race 5 Competitive maiden. PULA has jumped out well to debut and it would be no surprise to see Shinn roll forward from the draw. THINK HARD made a solid debut in a strong maiden here last year and responded well to win a recent jumpout. ROCK THEM JOOLS hasn’t been tested in recent jumpouts but moved well and seemed to have a bit to offer. AREZZO and ZOUMAN ALONG have both jumped out well and there wasn’t much between them when they were in the same jumpout. Selections: 10,12,5,2 Suggested Bet: Pula each way Race 6 Good race with a few that look capable of going on to better races. GRID GIRL and GLENFINNIAN may both need luck from the draw but are progressive gallopers, building good records, that have been jumping out well. LOAFER has jumped out impressively since her Caulfield run and may be the leader. REGAL MIGHT got the right run to score first up but will strip fitter and can also roll forward. JACKAND has been freshened and will be strong late. Selections: 3,7,10,1 Suggested Bet: Grid Girl each way Race 7 ENRIGHT measured up ok out of maiden grade last start and Regal Might will provide a guide on that form in the previous race. STATICE was well backed and impressed winning on debut and could be the one with the most upside. MR TICKLES was a bit below his best last time but may suited stepping up to 1100m. BARNAGE overcame some trouble to win an easier last start and gets the visors off. ABADDON has always shown talent and has indicated a degree of tactical versatility since joining the Meech stable. Selections: 7,9,5,2 Suggested Bet: Enright each way Race 8 SUN GIFT is racing in good form and gives the impression she’ll cope with the step up to this trip. JENNI THE TANK had been building to her maiden win last time and showed good fight up the home straight. LEGATUS and HIGHLAND BLAZE are both competitive in this grade and may be suited coming back in distance. There wasn’t much between STAR TESTYMONY and STARDOM AWAAYTS last start and both have some claims but there looks more depth here. Selections: 8,11,3,5 Suggested Bet: Sun Gift to win Market Market
