Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on November 29, 2022March 10, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 HIGHLAND HILL is still got a bit keen out to 2050m last start but still ran well. He may settle better with ear muffs on and looks hard to beat. TIME LUCAS shapes as the main danger, he hit the line strongly around the tight Casterton track and looks suited by the rise in trip. THE KHAN will give a sight on speed. XYLINA WARRIOR had her chance last start and should appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 6,5,4,11 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 6 & 5 Race 2 MIGHTY SAPPHIRE ran well in a strong maiden on debut and has jumped out nicely to resume. KOKONOTSU ran well first up without the best of luck. SHARK ISLAND hasn’t been tested in recent jumpouts but looked to have plenty to offer, the late market may provide a better guide. LOTTACHEEX hit the line well first up and has performed well in most of her runs to date. THINK I”M DIVINE may appreciate coming back in trip. Selections: 7,6,12,8 Suggested Bet: Mighty Sapphire to win Race 3 COLORADO CRUZ comes through a strong race behind Belmia first up, he’s been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. SNICK had no luck last start and maps for a soft run. PAPILLON CLUB has jumped out well to resume and there’s already winning form out of her latest jumpout. HELLCHAT and BOA BUN look the other key hopes of those with race experience. The debutantes have all jumped out ok. Selections: 3,12,9,6 Suggested Bet: Colorado Cruz to win Race 4 APERITIVO worked home well over 1200m first up, she looks suited by the rise in trip and may settle closer from the inside draw. CHOQUANT comes through some strong form lines in his first preparation and has been jumping out well to resume. BEST LIFE is another to be jumping out well to resume. MAJESTIC STYLE stuck on well on debut and looks suited by the slight rise in trip. Selections: 10,1,7,11 Suggested Bet: Aperitivo each way Race 5 RIVERPLATE resumed gelded and won in impressive style at Sandown. He had the pattern to suit, but he’s been competitive in stronger races and looks well placed second up. RUGGIERO overcame difficulties to win last start and has upside. ULTIMATE KISS is racing in great form and gets blinkers first time. DANE ON TOUR didn’t have the best of luck last start following her strong maiden win. Selections: 1,5,2,7 Suggested Bet: Riverplate to win Race 6 SONORA has jumped out well to resume. She’s building a good record and is a previous first up winner. LONSDALEITE resumes gelded, he has been jumping out in great style and should be strong late. TRMONTANA is another to be jumping out well to resume and is drawn for a good run. BRAVE STAR was slowly away first up but ran well, he’ll have slight fitness edge over a few key rivals. Selections: 7,9,6,4 Suggested Bet: Sonora to win Race 7 HARBIN was run off his feet over 1000m first up but worked home strongly and looks well placed out to 1300m. SIGOURNEY has been jumping out well to resume at what appears to be a suitable trip. FEUDAL EMPIRE is racing well, he chased strongly after bring slowly away last start and is capable of settling closer. TRADING POST’S form ties in with Feudal Empire and he’s been back to the jumpouts to prepare for this after a freshen up. Selections: 12,14,7,9 Suggested Bet: Harbin each way Race 8 RICK’S CAFE has returned in terrific form, she won impressively two starts back and was arguably unlucky not to make it two in a row last start. ACCUSE stormed through the line around the tight Casterton track last start, he should relish the rise in trip and the more spacious circuit. HOLLYWOOD PARK won well last start, defeating subsequent winner Who’s Your Papy, and looks a great opportunity for Thomas Prebble’s at his first race ride. KWOI HOI didn’t have much luck last start, he’ll strip fitter and will appreciate the rise in distance. HASSELTOFF can improve on a more spacious track. Selections: 11,4,3,7 Suggested Bet: Rick’s Cafe each way Market Market
