Warren Huntly’s Saturday Pakenham Preview Posted on December 19, 2024December 19, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Tempo should be solid and that will suit REDOUTE’S NIGHT, who is a winner here and has jumped out well to resume. CHARMED RUN is fit, racing well and will also be suited by a solid tempo. MISLEAD has a good record here and is another that has jumped out well. PHILOSOPHER will be part of the speed and can give a sight. Selections: 11,4,12,1 Suggested Bet: Redoute’s Night each way Race 2 ROMANI ITE DOMUM has been freshened since his last run and jumped out well leading into this. SWEETHEARTED is still a maiden but has shown much better than maiden ability and will be strong late. GRINZINGER POD appreciated coming back to 1200m last start. STORMBOURG and RELUCTANTLYCHARMED have a case. Selections: 1,8,3,2 Suggested Bet: Romani Ite Domum to win Race 3 SAMANGU looks progressive and capable of taking another rise in grade, on her way to better races. SISTERHOOD will strip fitter for a solid return and is suited stepping up to 1200m. HEARCOMESTHESTAR will likely drift back in the field from the inside draw but will be charging late. SUBLIMINAL, KIKO and PARADISE CITY all have some claims Selections: 10,7,6,2 Suggested Bet: Samangu to win Race 4 DIVUS ROMULUS should be at his top now and ready to win in this distance. FLAMIN’ ROMANS did some early work in the same race as Divus Romulus last time and battled on well under the circumstances. RICK’S CAFE closed of well at her first test at this trip last start and should be better for the outing. MATHEW didn’t have the best of luck in the same race as Divus and Flamin’. DUKE OF CONDICOTE looks suited stepping up to 2500m. Selections: 7,3,11,1 Suggested Bet: Divus Romulus to win Race 5 RUAKAKA RAIDER and SAMUEL LANGHORNE come through a high pressure race and if they’ve come through that ok appear good chances in an even race. DEAKIN struck some trouble at his local debut and should appreciate the extra distance. HAARACAINE hit the line well in Sydney at looks suited stepping back up in trip. DUBLIN JOURNAL won the high pressure lead up race and has obvious claims but the challenge could be for Dakota Keane to replicate that outstanding wining ride. Selections: 8,3,2,4 Suggested Bet: Ruakaka Raider each way Race 6 Great clash between two highly talented mares. RUNNING BY will get her preferred dry ground and has jumped out in terrific style between runs. OH TOO GOOD is building a great record and has also jumped out well between runs. MOWDOWN will strip fitter for his latest run and swaps blinkers for visors. KAHHOF has a bit of ground to make up on Oh Too Good from their meeting at Flemington but should be running on late. Selections: 6,7,3,5 Suggested Bet: Running By to win Race 7 SMOKIN’ PRINCESS was the beneficiary of a terrific ride to score first up, she boasts an impressive record here and will appreciate stepping up slightly in distance. NATION’S CALL has been kept fresh and may be better kept around this distance range at this stage of his career. PERFECT PLAY has been trialling well to kick off at a suitable trip. ELPHINSTONE may need some luck from the draw but will appreciate getting back on form ground. Selections: 9,3,12,14 Suggested Bet: Smokin’ Princess each way Race 8 NADAL has returned in great form as a gelding. He is yet to prove himself at 1400m but his only attempt to date was in the Golden Rose and prepared to give the gelded version another try. HERE TO SHOCK has jumped out in great style since experiencing cardiac arrhythmia last start and his previous form was strong. TUVALU was below his best from the inside draw last time and is drawn for clear air. ARKANSAW KID and WELWAL fought out that race Tuvalu contested and have obvious claims. MUNHAMEK has been somewhat of an iron horse in recent times and has jumped out well for this fresh run. Selections: 6,3,8,1 Suggested Bet: Nadal to win Race 9 SMOKIN’ ROMANS brings a great record here, is racing in terrific form and his WFA effort last start reads well. VOW AND DECLARE has had excuses at his last couple and has been kept up to the mark with a solid trial. MURAMASA has had an interrupted prep but will strip fitter for his run at Ballarat. HERMAN HESSE has been racing consistently and has a case. Selections: 1,4,3,2 Suggested Bet: Smokin’ Romans each way Race 10 IS IT ME doesn’t help himself at times but he’ll be fitter for his latest run and may hold a more forward position. SIR ATLAS was first up in the same race, he may be looking for slightly further but will strip fitter. THE OPEN won that race , so must have a case but will need some luck from the draw with an apprentice rider taking over. GLOBAL HARMONY (formerly raced here as Pagan) has been trialling well to resume his Australian career. HELIX backs up from a solid run last week and races well here. Selections: 8,12,7,15 Suggested Bet: Is It Me each way Same Race Multi: Is It Me (Top 2) + Sir Atlas (Top 4) Market Market
